I'll keep an eye out to see if the log stops. Third party apps do cause a problem if they lock (which Word did... but Notepad and Notepad++ did not).

I just began a new map, Brittany Central. I used it for about a half hour mapping different spots around town.
I started/stopped SotaMapper and it kept all my datapoints, every time.
Went to the Novia overworld (have a Novia.csv and used it earlier today) but the SotaMapper will not recognize that I am on Novia now.
I issued the /loc command 3 times, and each time the results are put into my chat file immediately (verified).... It keeps telling me that I don't have a map it...

Can you email me your map file (coder1024@gmail.com) and the specific red text error message its showing on the SotAMapper window?

Ok, I can do that.... but easier to just give it to you in our ongoing conversation (which I will do)...

Having said all that, and having gone in/out of Brittany to Novia without it recognising my Novia file - it suddenly began working perfectly again. I changed nothing.

I went into my POT, issued a /loc and BAM it see's it and brings up the map.
Went back out to Novia, issued a /loc and BAM it see's it and brings up the map.
I have done this 3 times and each time if works perfectly now.
And I have changed NOTHING in either of those 2 csv map files.

    Something weird is happening here....

P.S. Do you still want the csv file for Novia ? Now that it's working fine again ?

glad to hear its working.... sounds strange though. I wonder if sometimes the "copy to temp file" part fails for the log file... I may add some additional logging and then send you a test version to try out with logging enabled. That's the only thing I could think of that would cause it to just stop updating and then start again.

Yea, sounds like for some reason the temp file isn't updating properly.....
But definitely verified that the csv's are good, nothing on my end changed, it just began working perfectly...
Gonna cross my fingers and keep making maps.

Can't get SotaMapper to "find" my Vertas Pass map.
    Tried several times.

Here's a pic showing the /loc and my csv file:

Has anyone tried to map Vertas Pass and have SotaMapper respond ?
    Were you successful ?

Chat log is working perfectly and updated with each /loc entry.

If any of you get a chance, see if you can get SotaMapper to give you a map for Vertas Pass. ;)

    It's working for me...
    VertasPass.csv

    Name,X,Y,Z
    Center,0,0,0
    Exit,355.7, 22.5, 141.5

    Wierd...
Can't see why it won't see me.

    ** EDIT **
    I added your Center,0,0,0
    and your Exit,355.7, 22.5, 141.5
    and now it works.
I did not change the name of the csv (obviously), but adding those entry's made if work.
If you look at my pic showing exactly what was in my VertasPass.csv prior to adding your data, why did mine not work as shown ??
It should still bring up an empty map to work with, right ?

Couple things to check for, if you are not using the latest version, there was a bug if you opened in Excel it could put in extra comma's in few lines were they weren't needed.

... did you not have any xyz values in the file? It needs at least one to start with (which is why I now stick center,0,0,0 in.)

I did not have any xyz values prior to adding the csv named after the scene.
    Perhaps that is the key.
Once I added the Center 0,0,0 it worked.

    Lol...
Now that I've left and entered Novia (which I have a working csv for), it wants to keep showing me my Vertas Pass map.
Going to stay in this spot on Novia, restart the game client, and see if it see's my Novia map.

Ok, I restarted my game client, and it now sees my Novia map file....

I shouldn't have to do that.... What's going on here ?

If it's not loading a map that was working... it's probably the chatlog locking up. You have to restart the game to get it to start logging again.

Each and every time I look at my chat log, it shows the entry's almost immediately.
And it was showing my /loc in my chat log when it was still loading the Vertas Pass map for me.

I assume a given chat log could contain entries for multiple scenes. When searching through the chat log for /loc entries, does it stop at the newest? Or the oldest?

Has to be the newest, because my chat log has lots of /loc's in it at all times and it picks up the latest.
You can even watch it pick up the last one when you make a new map, even tho the chat log for the day has quite a few /loc's in it.
