I feel your pain - I've moved twice so far and think I'm about to move yet again - it's a real PITA!

I also miss the rune markings - this game is in dire need of better/more efficient travel machanics

I took all my stuff from soltown to near Brittany, it was like walking a a foot shuffler only doing pigeon steps, but, i got there.. :) if you have friends you can trust you can ask them to dump all their inv so they can load up with items you give them, you all run over, and they hadn you your stuff back, but it is a risk and you need friends you trust..

LOL only 350... When I moved, I was close to a half a ton over.
Now I know how I will walk in a few years when I am an old man.

It seems like backpacks don't work correctly in the bank. I'm a little OCD when it comes to organization! If I double click in the bank, it moves the backpack over to my inventory. Also, it seems like auto-stacking isn't working either. I have it turned on in the options.

No Autostacking in banks doesnt work, and the back packs work weird in banks.. you see their contents listed in the bank, but if you pick them up they extract their original contents :)

I can't get autostacking to work in my inventory either.

Its really annoying to come back with a bunch of animal hides, tree peices, and so on dump them in your bank and then have to shuffle the bank about to get only 1 pile of each

Auto-Stacking does work...just not as you may think. When you loot corpses it autostacks, but not when you drag-drop from one container to the next. The thing that annoys me is that when I pick something up in pack to stack it, it shifts the rest of the items below where you were going to drop it. If your trying to move things real fast this can cause misses and you have to do it again. I noticed that the backpack contents aren't being recognized when on crafting tables. But, if you double-click your recipe it will still add the contents from the backpack to the table. I wish the backpacks and inventory systems worked more like UO(although I do like the list system.)

You can also make two friends, one in Soltown and one in Owl's Head and use your teleport scrolls to their locations. You can't be encumbered but it saves much time. I use this method when I buy ore and don't want to waddle back to Spite (and through Vauban Pass!).

Temporarily increasing your encumbrance limits, via strength spell or potion of capacity, will decrease the number of trips that need to be made. Useful when teleporting.
