Early Access Schedule

I can say that I'm quite happy and excited to see this schedule! I already wish we were getting more time to playtest than is listed!

The dates have not even been set if you read the post.
(@Portalarium/Starr: I know you said the dates were not for sure set, but its really easy to miss that you said it. I think you should edit the post to say (Estimate) next to every date in the post. I know of another game that suffered greatly because of the player base missing details and then blowing up about it later. Not saying its justified or that you are heading down that road in any way at all, just pointing it out.)



Exciting stuff. I'm going to be disappointed when the first release lasts 3 days and then we are cut off for a month tho. Eh w/e happy with anything they decide to give us for any amount of time.

Hearing this news and seeing the progress made in the 6 month demo has really made my day!

See what I mean? People skim and see what they want to, and then they get mad later when it "changes" for them. TELL me you wouldn't be outraged if you took time off of work and they delayed it? So just don't do it.

 

The level of details you give about your releases and other information in general is phenomenal. Not only this, you also seem to value a lot the contribution of the community on the final game and that is awesome for us. I'm very satisfied to be a backer and future player of this game.

I hope I will have the time to participate and test some if not all the releases and provide feedback on it.

Keep it like this guys, you're doing a very good job.

yeah, I plan to make sure work is OK with my taking that timeframe off but will not schedule a hard vacation lock yet

LOL, I hope that those who are planning to take off work are not only mindful of the uncertainty of those dates, but also realize that Release 1 is basically just a single-player demo of things we've mostly already seen. Granted, getting it to a state that's ready for release to a wide audience with login, patching, and metric gathering will be a massive achievement, but I don't know that the amount of content will warrant any all-day playing sessions just yet. To each their own though.

Still, it's exciting to see them making great progress after just 6 months!

 

I don't think we can even consider this playing at this time. Some will use the early access as a way to experience the game early others will provide feedback and report bugs. There is probably more then 2 days of testing one person could do with just the first release.

What about bug reporting? Will we be submitting console logs?

Regarding the concern about testing housing in release 1 (too may people too few lots)... If you read the details in each release carefully you'll note the below for Release 4.

"The housing system will be relaunched with persistence in the online space."

Based on this, I think housing in release 1 will not be persistent for other players. Meaning everyone can claim any lot they want and will not be in competition with others for a lot, nor will they see anyone else's house. Basically, although its online, housing will be your own thing where you can get any lot you want at any house level but only you will see it.

That's how I read it anyway.

EDIT: This approach also seems like an awesome way to market the various housing options. Since everyone will get to experiment with even the highest end house, they'll get to see which they like the best in a more detailed manner than just watching a video.
