I really feel that this should be possible

    And the reason it's not is because the boundary around the brazier is square when it should be octagonal.

    What would it look like if you spread the blocks a bit further away from the center?

    Or maybe place the brazier first then surround it with blocks by starting at one of the corner.

    If I took away the pieces that are turned 45° then it would fit.

    Looks great for a fire pit. 8^)

    I definitely prefer the first, but until they fix the range, this makes a great alternative.

    Unfortunately collusion meshes cost system resources based on the detail of the mesh. So a cube with 6 sides, 12 triangles is a lot less resources than an octagon with now 10 sides and I would guess, 32 triangles. Although not a lot by itself when they add more details to the collusion mess across the board the performance will suffer.

    I'm pretty sure that geometry is shared between instances.
