Agh, that's only 5 pieces to the puzzle. My eyeball estimate says there are 30 more pieces to go. 30 more Story Reveals to go. 30 more weeks until we can see the whole map. So possibly not until June. Why must you torture us like this!!!

If it's anything like the original map reveal, it goes one.....two.....three....four.....five......SURPRISE! And then you have the whole thing.

Oh it was easier than that. As luck would have it, the original map I found on Stratics was the same resolution. It was just a matter of some cutting and pasting with transparency on to that original map. Those grid lines also helped!

I can put up the full res (2250x1920) version on my Dropbox if people want that.

I made a variation of the map tried to make it look old and have the puzzle pieces fill it in with color. If you have gimp (it might open in PhotoShop too idk) and want to be able to add the puzzle pieces to it as they come out like I'm doing here is the XCF file it also includes the regular color map. Excellent work Link_of_Hyrule! I like how yours make the new pieces visually pop out. I used MS Paint to make mine, so I was rather limited in what I could do :)

Yeah it actually wasn't too hard to do it I just messed around in gimp till I got the look I wanted I have no artistic ability just simple filters I found in the menu. You should get gimp it's free and has a lot of features I feel like it's catching up to photoshop lately. Just make sure to click view than single window mode that makes it less confusing.

With this new map, it appears the size of the map did not increase. That is, the continent of Novia did not increase which I find interesting given that everyone assumed it would be doubled in size. Here are all of the map-related stretch goals:

$1.5M: Content is King + Iolo + Spoony interviews Richard
    • Starting continent doubles in size
$1.6M: Shipping Lanes Open for business + New Island Content Set + Soundtrack
    • New “Mysterious Island” content, city, and scenes
$1.7M: Dynamic and Contested Resource Nodes + Optional Minimap System
    • The Lost Vale - A new mini-adventure centered around a lost valley previously hidden to players, now visible only during special astronomical alignments.
$1.8M: Tracy Hickman Novel + Catacombs + Apprentice System + Cloaks!
    • Massive, interconnected underworld with a story and ecology all its own.
We already know that there will be the underworld / catacombs. This new map also shows The Lost Vale / Hidden Vale. But we haven't heard about the "Mysterious Island" so that might be revealed later on this new map.

The one point of contention here is that the starting continent (Novia) should have doubled in size. This new map does not appear to show that. There could be some interpretations:
    - With a dual-scale map, they can virtually "double" the content. However I would argue that because of the dual-scale map the physical size should still have been doubled. It is a form of fast travel and you will still walk from Point A to Point B in the same amonut of time. With a doubling of the physical size of the continent, it should take twice as long.
    - The updated map is not to scale vs. what is implemented in the game. So perhaps in-game, the continent is twice as big...maybe?

The original map had 41 points of interest (POI).
    - 24 villages, towns, or cities
    - 8 dungeons
    - 9 "structures" (lunar rifts, statues, lighthouse)

Let's see how many POI the new map reveals show :)

Yeah, that's what I was wondering during KS. Would they just stretch the map beyond their initial plans? Meaning that if it was a 10 mile walk to Owl's Head from Britanny it is now 20 miles.

I understood it to mean that the scale changed, meaning one tile becomes two and the continent would take twice as long to walk across. Actually, I recall an example being given during a dev chat. I forget the exact numbers that they used but it went something lkke this: if the scale was 64x64 tiles, now it becomes 128x128. So it would actually quadruple in size. I think it was a dev chat with Chris or LB...sorry I just don't have the exact reference right now.
