Wishing I Could Complain - patcher

... about "All the Things" different in R36... but I can't because I've been patching for several hours now.

Is there some kind of issue going on with the patch server? Everything appears to be working correctly on my end.

 

Sorry about that Jaanelle, it's our patching system . We're still looking into ways to speed it up. In the meantime, if you can patch on Steam, you'll be able to get into the game a lot faster.

 

No Steam. Looks like I will just have to wait until tomorrow. I'll try not to get too rowdy in the forums while I'm waiting.

 

I can complain on your behalf. I'M ANNOYED THAT JAANELLE CAN'T GET IN!!!!! (hope that helps and look forward to seeing you once you are lucky enough to finish patching)

Wow, glad I have Steam. Came home from work and SotA was updated and ready to go.

 

Lol also run on steam. 5 min.. was done before i even settled in my chair.

But damnit bobby, steam is the devil!

 

Even on steam it took like half an hour to patch... to bad I wasn't in a condition to play/test yesterday evening... but today looks way better... no headache, sun in shining right now without me cowering in pain...
Besides: You can install/patch with steam and still play without using steam at all as far as I know... But if you don't want steam at all.. well... have patience... write a book... climb a mountain... raise a child... whatever you like

 

WoW, 76% now 13.5 hrs later... I shut down 3 time, it re-patched the patcher 2 times... Steam took like 10 min... Hopefully it will be done by morning...

 

I'm in! But now... I need to work. You'd think I would have done what I needed to do last night while waiting on the update. But no... I putzed around in the forums and read updates and such. Brilliant.

For all you who have this slow download going on in the Patch..... Close the launcher and restart many times. Eventually you will get an instance where the patcher starts downloading in the megabyte range. This strategy works great for me. I am no longer stuck with a 34 K download and this last time ended up with 1.6M/sec

As much as I hate Comcast, I do love their speeds.

On average I'm downloading 1 gig every 15 seconds.

 

I've got Comcast, and the problem isn't on my end. I'm getting 125Mbps download speeds. Though they annoy me as well.

 

Just close that launcher window and restart a few times and it will catch a reasonable download speed. Yes they know but are putting off the cure.
