there may be a cap on crafting xp.
at 25k xp i can get 400 xp per res node in 5skull
at 90k xp i get 150xp for the same res node in 5 skull.
if it goes all the way down, then that may mean there is a crafting xp cap, somewhere around 130k.
    that is very unfair.
getting less xp per res node as you go up in crafting xp is very unfair as well.

Definitely not the way described at least. I currently sit at around 4m crafting exp and still 500 per skinned elder wolf. Are you sure you dont have gathering skills increasing when you test?

Doesn't work that way, so you're not comparing apples to apples or something.
    Same node - same xp's.
Doesn't matter what your skill level is.
Like Xiren said above.... one of your harvesting skills is turned up using some of those xp's.

Really not happening. Turn all your gathering skills off and gather. 5 skull = 500 exp for any resource (i dont count reagents)

strange since nothing has changed in what i have been doing.
    400 plus at 25k xp and 120 at 95k
been at this nonstop for many days now. same result
    same skills on.
you cant tell me that what i am seeing is wrong.
its apples vs apples here. im doing it right now. same zone. same res nodes. brightbone pass.
im not the only one noticing this too.
furthermore, only 4 skills are in play with all arrows up. only the 4 skills for mining, or forestry, or gathering, or field dressing.

why would i lose 350 xp gathering a rabbit corpse in brightbone?
gathering is supposed to be all positive.

Rabits give minimal exp and you have a skinning skill or two turned on? It's not losing exp if you're training a skill.

ok i can see that. im training 4 skills there, the field dressing tree.
i have all 4 skills turned on in all 4 gathering skill trees.
this still doesnt explain why i gain 400 xp per res node when i have 25k crafting xp pool and then doing the same thing in the same place i gain 112xp per res node when i have 96k crafting xp pool.
i dont change anything in my skills. been doing this for days and get the same result. when i get 105k xp i go grind carpentry for 80k and then go back out to gather again at 25k xp crafting pool. same thing happens. 400 per node then.

It's a percentage of the pool, per skill turned on. Which is also wildly different depending on level of skill and if it's meticulous or another. That sum is subtracted from your gained xp from the 'node'

Whatever balance remains + or - is applied to the pool

yup sure enough, Snazz was exactly right.
when your pool is low, you use much less of it on the 4 skills and the xp pool goes up alot. when your pool is way higher, you use almost all of the res node gain on your skills.
i turned them all off and got 500 xp per node. when you fail, you gain nothing and lose nothing.
btw, rabbits get you 5 xp and those flowers, like nightshade and mandrake root get you 50 xp.
    thanks for the help, guys.

You have skills that are pulling exp when you harvest. Turn off all skill gains and you will see the exact number of exp per harvest.

Also, when you fail if you have skills training you will decrease your pool as fails still train skills.

Is that your pool size? Because the larger the pool size, the more gets drawn from it per skill-up. You clearly have something turned on, look again.
