Because the game isn't ALL about PvP and the game is long way from finished so they give this bonus to the people that were whining and complaining about the lack of PvP. What happens? They give them a bonus that has NOTHING to do with the PvP...

 

If they really want more PvP as it seems they are going for more and more. They should go FULL PvP with having the attacker going red if they kill another player, while red they have much higher chance to drop their gear. Just like it is in Lineage 2, else there is no meaning to have this kind of PvP and surely no reason to give Exp bonus to PvP'ers.

 

You're looking at this all wrong - and like everyone else all upset about the bonus - you're not seeing the bigger picture. Meaningful PVP requires PVP to happen in the SotA world - alongside everyone else going about their business. Ganking happens, and I hate it - but it doesn't happen often. Tonight I was ganked and it couldn't have happened at a worse time... but it's all good.

Immersion requires that PVP take place in the SotA world... I have properties, and I do a bit of grinding, and I'm trying to find my place in the SotA world. I buy/sell/trade and I grind and go hunting in a party and go to dance parties and basically try to get a piece of everything. I'm only playing one game - and for SotA to implement meaningful PVP its going to have to be part of THIS game. That means multiplayer and applying PVP choices/consequences to everything I'm already doing in game.

 

But they shouldn't do it at the expense of getting regular players upset, they need to find some other way to deal with it. What they really want is to have more people play in the MO mode, PvP is just something else and until they have PvP working in a better way they should just let it be and give everyone playing in MO the bonus instead.

By the way, the PvP is allready awarding, since you get loot from the ones you kill. Should be enough reward in it self.

 

I cannot even think of anything new to post after the 3 plus years of Ideas. Chris said he will not change the game if it takes a major tech change. It is what it is. Have fun. #all hope lost for pvp

 

They could also add a quest to get rid of the PvP flag instead of just having to go to the Oracle to get protection.

Well, if they don't reconcider the PvP majorly it could actually give some of the peaceful players the push to drop the idea of continueing playing the game. Not that it matters to me, I would most likely just get madder and eventually get even. But that is just my mentality.

Don't let the pity squad bring you down with tales of skies falling. Our factions post is a solid idea and is open enough to adapt any story line and the existing tech.

I think the consensus among these people is that @Chris isnt listening but I dont think that's the case. Lets just ask during the telethon and get his opinions and plan directly from him.

This thread is officially counter productive to the pvp cause.

 

PvPer and PvEer here and I have to say i like the change. Tons of XP heart pounding encounters with other players. A lot of encounters with other PvPers don't end in a fight some happen to be other PvEers also getting XP which leads to an awesome stand off where you don't know if you are friend or foe until someone speaks up.

I hope you are right. I hope Chris does check factions out and the idea you submitted. I just have grown tired of his total non response on all of my previous faction/guild war/alliance ideas. Hopefully he see's that pvp in this game is on life support.
