No elderberry seed returned upon crafting royal dye

1. Reproduction Rate: I only had the one elderberry to try this.

3. Details: Craft royal purple dye months ago. Went to create some more, realized that no seed was
   returned. This was my original elderberry, not a purchased one.

Is there any hope of recovering the item? I still have the dye i made but I'm pretty sure that using the dye will not recover the seed right?

 

The seed is not regenerated until the dye is used. When you dye the item, the seed appears in your bag. This is why you never sell the dye, because you will be giving the seed to plant to someone else. Gamician please note this is not a bug nor a glitch, it has always worked like this
