What COE needs is mostly an actual game. It's just theorycrafting ATM... (I'm not a fan of the concept TBH got it filed under yet another gankbox)

While it sounds good in theory, most people would NOT want to lose a character they have spent 6 months building up on due to old age. Real life is already like that, so why punish ourselves even more? The only ones who benefit from that kind of mechanic are the developers, because that would require players to start building their new character from scratch again, potentially forcing them to spend more money on whatever crafty add ons they can think of to "speed things up".

    Voted! :D

CoE has an inheritance design and your skills carry over, allowing you to start higher and gain more over your characters lifespan. I agree that they need to start showing more in game footage of the new things being created.

Laugh if you want but if a company can't be bothered to support Linux then they don't need my money.

    Oh I laugh.
    But! I understand your sentiment.
It's not like Linux would be new and unknown like back in the days.

Don't really know if this is a serious list. No Man's Sky is listed in the sandbox mmo's and the game obviously was critized because it didn't really have multiplayer. :p

Spread the word and help get more votes! It doesn't have votes because we are not actively promoting the game right now.

    Go team!!

BTW you can vote more then once and it counts. Pretty much anytime you have a cache and cookie clear of your browser you can vote again. I think I have voted 4 times now and it counted them so the counts of the other games may not be very accurate and we can certainly inflate this game's count if we were inclined.

Unique and interesting isn't necessarily good. One of the main reasons many unique games are considered unique is because they don't have the legs to make a good game, just a good level/area or two. Nobody is going to copy the pattern of a mediocre game with a couple good ideas.

So... a tiny website no one has ever heard of has a broken poll that anyone can vote as many as they want, causing the small community of fans to vote again and again and again so that the skewed results favor the game they like.

    Seems a bit silly.

True enough. However, if nobody is willing to support innovation and experimentation, then we'll have the same tired old stuff forever. Sometimes even failed experiments can be valuable, though nobody likes investing in a failed experiment. For me personally, there have been several games that have been universally panned that I really enjoyed, or at least enjoyed several of the ideas of in the game. I guess I'm just disappointed that most people can't see anything beyond the final, polished, typically heavily compromised final package that most mainstream games represent. It's like trying to find a new song on pop radio.

I'd hate to see experimental games go away as well, but crowd funding isn't the right way to fund them. Crowd funding is best when used to fund tried and true formulas that can't be funded via the normal means, i.e. the sales viability is questionable not the design. Experimental games are best sourced from art house projects at regular studios, side/passion projects done in devs spare time and via government grant.
