    It takes over 3 minutes to load into Estgard, which is quite a long while to wait.

    I don't see that one externally.
    For me, it takes only 67 seconds to enter Estgard from the Overland Map.
    @Mishikal Can you provide your system specs, please?

    This was loading into Estgard from the main menu. I.e., was already in Estgard. Started the game, clicked Resume. 3m10s for that to complete, tested twice. It spends a particularly long time at 50%, 64%, and 94%.

    Is there a quick command for the system specs?

    I don't see that one externally either.
    For me, it took only 1 min and 25 seconds to load into Estgard by clicking Resume from the Main Menu.

    Windows 10 Professional 64-bit
    Intel Core i7 960 @ 3.2GHz
    12 GB system memory
    GeForce GTX 770 2GB GDDR5

    It takes 2 minutes 15 seconds to load into Kingsport as an additional data point.

    For me, it takes only 73 seconds (1 min 13 secs) to load into Kingsport by clicking Resume from the Main Menu after the client restart.

    @Mishikal
    It would be helpful, if you also answered the following questions:
    1) Are you running the game from an SSD or from an HDD?
    2) What is the size of your page file on your Windows 10 64-bit setup?

    @Mischievous Dragon

    1) HDD, but I don't think that's particularly relevant. My other rig is also HDD, and it loads quickly. But that rig has an nVidia GeForce GTX 980. ;)

    2) Whatever Windows is setting it to. That particular system has > 1TB free disk space, so there shouldn't be any VM issues with the page file.

    @Mishikal Your HDD is the bottleneck in your system and is the cause of the long loading times to Estgard and Kingsport. Buy a new SSD and move SotA to the SSD.

    I disagree. I'd guess video RAM is more likely. As I noted, my other rig is HDD. Not only that, it's RAID0 HDD, which slows down operations even further. And yet it loads everything very quickly. The major difference is the video card and its available RAM.

    We can confirm that an SSD in a system is a significant performance boost for loading scenes over a standard HDD. In most cases for a computer, you will find an SSD helps in performance.

    That said, limitations of video RAM are also a possibility, especially if your video ram amount is less than 4GB. System ram of amount 8GB or less can also start to affect performance of the game as well.

    Upgrading my wife to a nVidia GeForce 1050TI resolved the issue, as expected.

    Thanks for the info. I've added some logging to see if we can correlate video memory and load times in general, or if there is a connection with specific video cards.
