How do we know what items in-game are part of the system? I see on some of the Eternal pattern items it's notated on the actual item.

For other items that are part of the pattern system how is a player to know but the item has a chance of yeilding a pattern?

Also players should be able to see the % chance of yeilding a pattern on the crafting table.

Year 2025: "Just read instructions for releases 39-551, and in a few short months you'll know what produces patterns, and what not." o_O

I suggest to add all pertinent information (including producing patterns, with their probabilities) to an existing item description.

Every item that has a pattern in it should say whether it has one. If it doesn't say it has one then it doesn't have one.

that's true for things with eternal patterns, but there's no indicator on things that have a chance at a pattern in salvage. i have a box full of elven woodwind longbows, khopesh swords, kobold chain swords, lich axes, and satyr axes and none of them indicate in mouseover that there's a pattern possible to get from them.

It can be hard when one is so close to see the forest for the trees.

Thank you and the other members of your team (even Evil Chris! ;) for listening to us pleebs and taking action. The feedback loop here makes being part of this game drv process a once in a lifetime experience I'm happy to be part of!

And can you add a probability of getting a pattern from an item, please?

Any update on this task? It is terribly confusing to know what can be salvaged for patterns, and what the chances of success might be. @DarkStarr

Even having a line, just like with dyes, as to what pattern (if any) is on the item, would be enough. Then anything with a pattern has "a chance" to extract.
