XP Loss on Death!

    Is the algorithm of loss of experience corrected?
    My avatar is at level 98 but I lose 240K when I die (after 24h).
    It's very much experience.
    Whats do you think?

    Would be great (much appreciated) if @Chris or @DarkStarr or @Lord British would tell us exactly how "decay" is calculated.
    That would be a good start. ;)

    I was loosen about 120k at 12 hour decay.. so that seems about right.

    Wait til you hit over 100 and it hits 700k exp lost to one kill lol.

    104 :) after you hit 100 the amount of decay doubles.

    i stopped fight on hard scenes because i can lost 1 or 2 hours of POOL just by LAG.. or a disconnection.
    Portalarium need to remove this penality.. or make the penality NOT ON THE POOL. (i remember when player have REDUCED STATS for a while..) just increase the -20 -20 -20 for 1 hour (player can commerce/craft during this time) ... and maybe make POOL decrease only when player die 2 times... (and display how many points are lost)

    P.S. Die on PVP it's the same???

    Yes, I'm definitely not looking forward to experiencing this decay mechanic :( it sounds pretty punitive.
    When I get there I will be looking closely at my numbers.

    I won't be taking chances** in this game (sadly) -- will probably die enough even being "safe" lol

    ** in games I like to push my limits, try a hard boss or see how well I handle multiple mobs - even though I may die I can learn from it and use different skills or tactics. That's "fun" to me.

    No one likes a death tax, I say Keep what you have, but lose what you can get for 1hr- maybe 2. @ lvl67 they take 10% from me roughly.

    The big problem of "decay" is that more players do not fight in difficult areas.
    I understand something is needed but I think another solution ..
    For example:
    When you die the first time, you have a temporary statistical decay for 30 minutes
    When you die the second time, you have a temporary statistical decay for 60 minutes
    When you die the third time, you lose the exp pool

    With this solution more player try to fight in hard zone.. or not?

    Answer from Chris to a player who was annoyed to loose too much XP on death.
    I think he's right

    I think the death decay is way to low for high level Avatars.
    I die a lot and who is afraid of dying is a chicken. :p

    OK.. but on PVP? Why should I lose pool ??? experience is experience .. 2 or 3 VS 1 (my personal experience on PVP when i die) and who die... lose pool... this is not right.

    I really despise skill decay. Hard cap seems better, but that's just me.
