[Not a bug] Certain character sequences are stripped from chat

When talking to a fellow programmer about code fragments, I used the character sequence "" (Without quotation marks) -> It was stripped from the chat without notification, mutilating the meaning of the code fragment we were talking about

 

@tomcat_de Sadly the forum has eaten your sequence too! If you can do something else to demonstrate whats missing... a picture of it in notepad or something that cant go missing or screen dumps of you saying, and it showing something else.

it happens here because square brackets are BB code commands.. its certainly not personal against programming indexers

 

@liz_the_wiz is right. This is by design.

 

@liz_the_wiz was addressing it being stripped out of the forum, but the initial bug was about it being stripped out of the game chat. is that also by design?
