[Known] Libris ruins & other zones - devotional effect on avatar with no devotional nearby

Title: Libris ruins - buff/debuff effect not working?

Details: when I walk around the location shown below, there is a brief swirly light around me (see pic below), but i do not see a buff/debuff icon in the upper left corner under my name, so I am not sure what the swirly thing is doing. Maybe buff/debuff icon is missing?
I can reproduce the swirly effect by running back and forth in this area.

Title: devotional graphic in inappropriate places

Details: earlier today i noticed that every time i walked OUT of the brit estates bank i got the purple devotional swirl. i tried it three or four times in a row. i switched modes to reset the scene and couldn't reproduce it.

now i'm getting it every time i walk out of my own house.

Steps to Reproduce: i don't know! will keep reporting examples. if i had only seen it in STH i would think the town's devotionals had something to do with it, but brit estates doesn't have one.

@Rinaldi came into this scene and reports it happening to him in that last place too, but we can each only see our own.

I found this issue was happening in several zones: when you run or walk passed a certain location in the zone, that swirling animation occurs with no new buff and no changes in the existing buffs. My recollection is that it may have occurred near pale patches in the ground. Maybe a certain graphic in the ground is somehow linked to the devotional animation by accident?

 

Thank you for letting us know. That is definitely the devotional buff, not intended.
I'm curious if you HAVE devotional buffs on you when this happened and it is repeating in error?

i know i did with yesterday's testing, but i'm not sure about the first time. will test.

 

cannot get it to work in last night's spots without or without a buff. given that it failed to reappear the first time when i reloaded brit estates, i think it's a bugged scene state.

 

Interesting. I take it leaving the BE bank this time around worked just fine? I assume this is the bank next to the overland map entrance, not the bank in the center of the Estates...

was testing the spots in STH just now, not brit estates, but yes, the one near the entrance.

 

found a spot in owl's head, running south here.

i had a devotional buff. triggered the animation a few times, canceled the buff, and couldn't trigger it again. you DO have to have a buff for these spots to show.

 

It does NOT grant or overwrite additional devotional buffs, however. It seems purely cosmetic.

 

Found other locations (in Boreas Colossus) where the "devotional" swirly graphic occurs (and I get the intelligence buff) even though no devotional is nearby

Seeing this also in various zones - including Blood River Outskirts - I have devotional buff active and expiring in ~30 minutes.
