Naval Blockades During Sieges?

    How about port towns under siege be under a naval blockade as well? Taking a boat out of such a town will open into a water scene with two boats side by side, a la the old Ultimas naval combats. A player clearing the enemies will go on to the destination. A player killed will be dumped back to the docks of the besieged town.

    That doesn't change my basic premise. Even if you go to Novia from a boat at a dock, "let's go around the siege by boat," the besiegers will be there in the water. Same idea. You get killed, you get kicked back to the docks. You kill all the baddies, you go on to land outside the siege.

    Etceter wasn't under siege (that's why you were able to go to Xenos without incident). The alternative destination for the other boat was under siege. That may have been Novia, or it may have been a connecting town.

    This is another reason those tooltips should say "Destination (Hills Siege)" rather than just "Hills Siege" giving the player no idea where it goes to.

    What does any of that have to do with the idea of having a naval blockade scene of port towns under siege?

    It makes up half of your original post of where the idea came from.

    Don't get me wrong, it's a good idea (if sieges are a necessary evil we have to keep, at least)

    I edited the first post to remove what led to the idea. In the future, I shall post only the idea, and not include what led to the idea. Lesson learned.
