    Nothing changed for bows?

    If it did it's not showing retroactively.

    There's also no change for wands/staffs. My recommendation is that the bonuses are in addition to the base maple/pine heartwood, similar to how bonuses for cloth bolts/straps, leather yards/straps, and metal plate/coils/bindings.

    For example, pine wands have a +2.5% spell critical chance bonus. For crimson pine, the material bonus is currently +5% Focus. Instead, it should be +2.5% spell critical chance AND +5% Focus. Otherwise, people will always choose pine over crimson pine.

    By the way, the 0.1 Damage Resistance on Hard Maple is ridiculously low. It should be at least 1 Damage Resistance, similar to 1% Damage Avoidance for Grey Pine.

    For the record, here's what I think would be good wand bonuses (all having -10% Reagent Use Chance):

    Pine: +2.5% Spell Critical Chance
    Crimson Pine: +2.5% Spell Critical Chance, +5% Focus
    Grey Pine: +2.5% Spell Critical Chance, +1% Damage Avoidance
    Maple: +5% Spell Damage
    Hard Maple: +5% Spell Damage, +1 Damage Resistance
    Rock Maple: +5% Spell Damage, +7.5% Spell Critical Damage

    This still makes Ashen Heartwood (drops from the reapers) slightly better with +5% Spell Damage, +10% Focus, and -12.5% Reagent Use. Of course, this would probably mean that everyone would use Rock Maple instead of anything else, but it's better than everyone simply using Pine or Maple.

    Hopefully, they'll get to wands and the other components of bows in R48.

    The trouble with wood bonuses is that you lose the base wood bonus when you use a specialty wood.

    IE
    With copper, if you add tin and make bronze, you get a straight upgrade from what copper offers.
    With maple, if you decide to add resin and make rock maple, you LOSE the spell damage bonus and instead get the spell crit damage bonus.
    It would make more sense to me (and really increase the appeal of using specialty woods) if, like with the cloth and metal counterparts, wood consistently kept the base wood bonus in addition to whatever special bonus it is adding.
    This is why you don't see a lot of bows that aren't pine/maple, because the basic crit chance or weapon damage offered by these is considered more desirable in most cases than the much more expensive alternatives.

    Correction: Some of the bowstave bonuses have increased, while others have not. For example, Hard Maple Long Bowstave still only gives a measly 0.1 Damage Resistance, which is unacceptably low. Others are better, such as Grey Pine Long Bowstave giving 5% Weapon Critical Chance AND 2% Damage Avoidance, which is more in line with other material bonuses that stack (i.e., metals, cotton armor, leather armor).

    The problem here is inconsistent and lack of stacking of bonuses. I agree with @kaeshiva that you shouldn't lose the base material bonus. Again, I can't resist putting my two cents in about what I think the stats SHOULD be for long bowstaves:

    Pine: +5% Weapon Critical Chance
    Crimson Pine: +5% Weapon Critical Chance, +10% Focus (instead of the new +20 Focus)
    Grey Pine: +5% Weapon Critical Chance, +2% Damage Avoidance
    Maple: +5% Weapon Damage
    Hard Maple: +5% Weapon Damage, +2 Damage Resistance (instead of 0.1 Damage Resistance)
    Rock Maple: +5% Weapon Damage, +7.5% Weapon Critical Damage

    This would provide some consistency and stack bonuses above and beyond their existing maple/pine base bonuses, without overpowering them. It's also consistent and scales to the one-handed wand suggestions in my previous post (more or less).

    As a fighter and not a crafter, could someone point me to a post that defines what a Tier 2 component is and what the other Tiers are ? (The only Tiers I'm familiar with are the Tier 1-5 zones).

    After it's factored in, it's more like +0.25%.

    And what's your base critical chance? As far as I can see, it's what's listed on your weapon description.

    It's in the release notes. Tier one is basic wood or ore. Tier 2 are the subtypes that you make with the basic wood/ore which require alloys and barks. There are 4 tier two woods (maple x2 pine x2) and 4 tier two ores (iron x2 and copper x2).

    Tier 2 take 4 times the mats and are still completely not worth it.

    Apparently tier 3 are special mats from salvaging.

    Tier concepts are new this release while the subtypes are years old.

    It's interesting that no critical bonus from either dexterity or or Armor Weak Points is listed in the /stats output; only the value from the weapon and bonuses from other sources such as armor. BTW, where did you hear that dex/10 is added to your critical chance?

    all the tier 2 components were supposed to be buffed. it seems from reports that wood was missed. if you think something else was missed, report it.

    On QA, I tested these two bowstaves:

    Hard Maple:
    • +10% Weapon Damage
    • +0.1 Damage resistance

    Rock Maple:
    • +10% Weapon Critical Damage
    • +0.1 Damage Resistance

    This makes no sense....

    Maple was for Damage and Pine was for Crit..... Looks like Pine variants are going to worthless. [

    How to find crit chance for Bow.

    A = (Dex/10)
    B = (Weak Points)
    C = Item Crit
    D = Weapon Crit Bonus

    ((A+B+C)/100)*(1+(D/100))=Crit%
