Still can't see properly at night, and it makes playing the game at night a chore.

My brightness slider is at max.

With the Light spell, the radius is just so small. In a building it's not bad, but outside it's almost useless.

I have recently started trying to use the Night Sight spell from the Moon tree again, even though the incandescent green was making gameplay a joke. I have somehow trained myself to deal with the awful graphics this spell produces because its brightness level is pretty much spot on. I can see things and continue playing.

Devs, you need to seriously think about how to manage this problem. If this is the way everyone is playing and they have gotten used to playing in a bad environment - which it seems like we have - it's a big bad black mark on the game and you have to show it to every new player who comes in.

If you want a day/night cycle to work, we need a really, really good lighting system. This isn't it. This isn't close.

On a sidenote, I would really like a way to tell how far into the day/night it is. Is there a clock? Looking at the sky doesn't seem to help; I don't know why we can look at the sky - it seems meaningless.

Maybe it's deactivated for you but there's a hotkey that toggles the compass at the top of the screen. Bellow said compass is a bunch of text and the date, time and weather is listed there.

Problem is that, most of the time, what's written on the compass hardly represents what you see in the sky. No dev seem to acknowledge this.

Who's "they", I sure as hell haven't. I swear out loud every time it's night-time or when I'm inside a dungeon.

I dare any developer who's showcasing their maps in the next community stream to NOT use the Light Spell for once so that they can fully understand how awful the lighting situation is.

I've seen that, but I can't translate anything that's there; what does any of it mean?

    It's basically:
[Date] [Season] [Year] [Time] [Phase of the moon] [Weather]

In a single string of text with no separation; so for example:

"Friday November 13, Autumn 483 PC Afternoon Third Quarter Moon Light Clouds Light Winds."

    Translates into:

    Date: Friday November 13
    Season: Autumn
    Year: 483 PC
    Time: Afternoon
Phase of the Moon: Third Quarter Moon
Weather: Light Clouds & Light Winds

What you're looking for is: "Afternoon"

It gets dark during dusk and light again during late night. It works this way in every scene I've been to with the exception of underground scenes.

Separating them with a bullet or something would be nice... far easier to read quickly:

Friday November 13 • Autumn, 483 PC • Afternoon • Third Quarter Moon • Light Clouds, Light Winds

I agree with all of the above...

On that part, just look at your rl clock.
Nights always begin at 15 mins before the hour and end 15 mins after the hour.
So, you're always in the middle of a "night" at the beginning of any hour. ;)

I agree with the lighting issues. As someone with vision problems, the color for night sight is problematic for me. I can't use it. I assumed it was green based on the way it makes everything impossible for me to make out. Can we change night sight to make the world look like normal lighting?

Instead i encourage the devs to remove night from the game, and give us perpetual day light...

At this point, I'm not sure this is an outrageous suggestion anymore.

There's probably a half way measure - make those spells just turn night into day for a buffed period.

If it actually helps me play the game, why not?

I'm not being dramatic when I say the game is literally unplayable at night for me. Only way I can do hunting is, ironically, inside certain mines that have plentiful light sources that I can switch on.

Something needs to be done with night time.
