Working on the main quest lines and just met the Oracle. Have a slew of quests now that almost all take me into PVP zones.

I don't like PVP. I don't want to PVP. I'm not good at PVP. If I wanted to PVP I'd go play Eve Online or any number of first person shooter games.

Find other ways of making PVP and PVP zones meaningful. I don't feel I should have to wander into gankfests where I can lose my gear to pickpockets and randsom to advance the main story.

you don't have to. they do a bad job of communicating it, but there are underground passages to all the things you need to get without going through the pvp zones.

Are all of the quest objects in sub-zones underneath the zones the quest lists? So - Libris Ruins, I actually want an underworld zone under that?

Any zone can be a PvP zone for you, iffen you're flagged. PvE'ers do not have that option.

I agree that it is not well communicated that you can skip the PvP zones to complete the questlines.

Yes you can skip the PVP-Zones
BUT to find the way is much more difficult and timecomsuming
searching or knowing the right people who know, then you need to do lots of OP-Mobs-fighting (if you are only following the storyline)

The Non-PvP Entrance for Libris Vault is per...

Serpent Spine Foothills, then Serpent Spine Mine. 2nd Floor opposite of the Entrance to Spindrift Passage

Unless this gets changed at release, the omission of clear alternate none pvp paths included in the main quest notes, folk will have to view it
as a bone tossed to pvpers, a joke played at the expense of a large number of players.
Which is an awful idea and should not be done, folks will lose trust, and its immature. Claiming deniability after the fact with saying there are
ways around only helps those who have time for forums, I wonder how many just quit, thinking the game is not their idea of fun.

Touché. To each their own, I suppose. It's not my cuppa. I've been PVPing in different games for ...way longer than I'll type here. I'm not good at it and I don't enjoy it. The negatives in most games for sucking at PVP are you die, you have to go back to your body and you could lose time (and maybe get camped). I don't want to lose gear I've spent resources and time trying to make/find/craft/obtain. Until this is changed, I'm going to avoid PVP in SOTA.

Thank you for the information. I read the quest at face value, which said to go into the PVP zone and gives no indication that what I need is *under* those zones.

Perhaps the quest givers could say something along the lines of the option? "Recover me the blah blah blah. I hear it's somewhere under the ancient ruins of Libris. The underground is protected by the oracle but be warned, the surface is not. Perhaps there's another way to it?" or some sort of indicator. Or have other NPCs give you information. "Libris ruins! How exciting. I heard there are tunnels underneath the ruins. There's rumor you can navigate most of novia through underground tunnels?" - Yes, this is a tooltip, but if it's in context of the quest it'll indicate what you want is below the pvp zone.

But all zones have PvP ...at all times, even towns - for those who choose to flag ;)
The mechanic is there - if people don't choose to utilize it, the solution isn't to force people who aren't interested to do so.

You are talking to Valor Bastagio who was being as we like to call it, sarcastic. To chime in, if i run into more than 4 pvpers, that is a rarity. ;)

IMO for a game to succeed, it need not cator to the opposite. Thats just my opinion

You shouldnt play consensual PvP games.

It's a good point, only I would suggest filing a bug report about it. You might get more traction that way.

I have discovered that if I type in the ruin that I am seeking out, there is usually a Youtube video showing the alternate paths for reaching the ruin in question.

I agree that feeling forced into PvP zones is a PITA.
