Standup Corner - Telethon

I like reading the daily standup notes - they give me some understanding of what the team is working on. Somegimes there's easter eggs but sometimes I don't understand the entries.

Take for example today's note:

Quite a few developers have "Telethon" listed. The Telethon took place last week Friday. So is this about a Telethon review the team did? What are the criteria to make it on the stand-up list? Time spent?

Also it would be nice if the "nick name" would be added - for example "Mathew Anderson / Berek"

Think we always/usually a work day behind on the notes

 

That could be one explanation but why would then the listed date be Monday, Feb 5. Also the entry for Friday (Telethon day) had Telethon also listed?!

 

In the standup, they say what they worked on the day before, and what they plan to work on today. So they did the telethon yesterday (last working day/Friday), and plan to work on/continuing to work on something else today.

 

Also after a telethon there are a number of jobs related to it like flagging accounts that qualify for rewards, following up on purchase queries, discussing how the development of the new rewards are to be assigned etc

 

Dont forget the list of questions they didn't have time while live to answer - and I suspect that is a LONG list.

 

Browncoat is correct. We are an agile company and standup reports follow the following layout:

- I worked on X yesterday
- I will work on Y today
- I am blocked by Z / I am not blocked
