...and guess the Metacritic score for SotA after the first release week!

After the coming publish it's only one month more untill release and the Game is imho far away from polish.
Tons of cloned scenes, missing features (yes we still wait for SotAmap on Linux) and skill balancing that is in beta state or worse.
Not to mention all the placeholder (annoying SFX and NPC), poor performance and so on.

With all that in mind, i think 64% is still a optimistic score.
    What do you think?

Maybe missing scenes is the wrong word, i mean all the cloned scenes.
I change that in my op.

    It's a handful at best.

So don't you think you should get the facts FIRST before posting
    stuff like that?

    Thanks,

    I'm outta here.

    No, why?
It's my personal opinion and also not wrong, because there are still cloned scenes.
A list of all missing features, bugs, and uncloned scenes was not the purpos of the post...

I really don't get your hostility.

I think you are exagerating...alot. Game is in constant development... new features added every month. You can see the work they put in making the game..

Yeah OP is kinda trollish. Too bad. I want to see this game succeed so I'm not going to nit pick something that is still in progress.

I think he might be referring to the actual launch date and possible incomplete features. This kind of thing is normal to be curious about. Instead of bashing the poster lets talk about his concerns.

in my opinion linux sotamap integration is not a responsible use of development resources.

I think we all want the game to succede. Yes it is a work in progress, but how will the official launch be judged if it has incomplete scenes? This stuff should be discussed. We should encourage talking about things like this in order to develop strategy to help the situation, instead of sweeping feelings under a rug.

This is what is wrong with developers/gaming companies these days. They release unfinished products. People will still buy them and until the consumer gets sick of this common practice it will continue. I have always thought that SOTA spent to much time working on POT's and other items that while neat did not make up the game play aspect of SOTA.
In my eyes the game lacks any kind of depth right now. Sure you can craft, if you want to no life it to become good, same goes for adventuring. We need a world that feels alive. Right now it is nothing more than going through the motions.
Meta critic score 62. And that is being generous.

I'll wait to see the official critic score next month, the metacritic user score though will probably be fairly low.

During development they narrowed to much who they identified as their target audience and build the game around these players expectations.

If marketing is going to focus on fantasy rpg fans I
can almost guarantee these folk will not like what they get.

    Id guess about 63%.

I say that because its come a long way. They will probly get 50 % but the current pop will push to review n stuff on steam to raise it.
And id say most of the original disappointed people are gone and wont take the time to re rate it.
So i think itll have a smallish new pop come in, and numbers will be offset by the same core thats here now.

Game has improved a lot. Not in the areas it was necessarily critiqued for.

But we might be getting there in the future. It is a lot more appealing than it was post persistence.
However I think a score in the high 60s or lower 70s would be optimistic.

Realisticly only remnants of the people who were mainly interested in the game are left.
Sure they will check back, but if R53 & R54 don't solve issues like nothing to grind for, no Factions, no PVP/Goals/Building for guilds/factions + ingame politics in some way the game will stay as small as it is.

Hard to find the constructive side here.

Who cares about scores after being playing games for 20-30 years? even with a 1/100 I'll keep playing the game I like.

For me, our SOTA is much the same as Space-X...

    Space-X wasn't a success through being successful,
 "They were successful because they just never quit!" o_O~TL~
