Fact: Those are the actual boxes we will use for shipping the game. They start off white but Scotty is going to hand paint each and every one of the 10000-ish boxes... he's just that good. :) Believe it!

I... was kind of hoping the boxes would be shipped flat. I've yet to get a shipped physical box that isn't mangled by the post office.

    Yes.

Bubble mailers are great to protect CDs and trinkets. If the box was flat inside, between two pieces of cardboard, and everything else wrapped in bubble wrap, when you get your box you can assemble it and voila; it fits on your shelf with no blemishes.

Putting everything in the box and shipping it means there will be little, if any, padding on the outside. If the exterior package is damaged, its almost guaranteed that your box will also be damaged.

I've received 12 games through Kickstarters so far, both computer and tabletop. Only two have gotten to me unscathed. The tabletop one was shipped in a much larger exterior box filled with styrofoam, which had to be expensive, and the computer game was shipped with a flat box.

@Chris : Is there any way we can get our physical items through Fed Ex or UPS? My Post Office carrier is less than reliable. Either things never arrive or they get delivered to other people in the neighborhood.

I don't want to know what you people are using the over half used pump lotion and half used paper towel roll for.

Something that might help - if you have a UPS, Fedex (or any carrier equivalent) store near you, renting a lockbox there - giving you a mailing address that can accept deliveries for you, is usually SUPER cheap for people utilizing them for short periods of time and not for businesses. Might run you $5 a month, and you can ensure its not dropped in the rain or stolen off your porch.

Just noting cause these things are WAY cheaper than most expect them to be, and they can save a lot of headache in a pinch when there's a mail service that's less than reliable and you don't want to lose stuff.

Sorry to hear. I know first hand that UPS is terrible.
Packages are always damaged. Rate is something like 9 out of 10.
And one time they left my package in the street. Everybody could have picked it up from my doorstep Oo
Never had such issues with DHL. And never used FedEx ^^

Something that wouldn't get ruined in the mail is a hand-carved sandalwood box ... ;)
