I just visited a fabulously creepy domicile full of skeletons, spiders, gravestones, eyes of whosamawhatchit (they glow green) and other really spooky stuff that was a masterpiece of horror.

My host asked me if I needed some of the glowing eyes. I said no, because I don't want a spooky home, I want a pretty, flowery feminine one.

Then I realized that my house is decorated with mounted fish, the heads of dead animals and weapons. The only pretty things I have in my house are a couple of vases with roses. I wish we had a wider selection of dainty and feminine-looking things to decorate a room with, like pottery with flowers painted on them.

lol that is funny. I have 1 set of antlers but no animal heads. Altho in my room I agree with Mac, I have shoes and clothes scattered all over the room. When Scottie makes us curtains then that will be a wonderful day. ;)

While I wouldn't necessarily equate dainty with feminine, I agree with the sentiment.

Steampunk / Clockpunk normally associate a lot with Renaissance and early industrial eras. So mid 1700s to early 1800s.

As such they usually have a blend / mixture of rococo, neoclassicism and art nouveau.
    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rococo
    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neoclassicism
    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Art_Nouveau
While some in US/western world would deem such as feminine today, they were not at all considered that in their day nor would they be in other parts of the world.
Rather expressions of wealth, power and style.
Pirates or cavaliers comes to mind as Victorian expressions of this for both genders.

We do have some art nouveau style objects among those given as telethon rewards like the floral stuff. There are hints of rococo in a few. Definite neoclassicism in the Greco/Roman stuff. Not much though when compared to the main styles.

So we sure need more variety and totally agreed that we also need more flair as a contrast.

It's like when everyone wanted to be different in school and dressed like punks or whatever where the irony is if you dress like everyone else then you are not really different. I mean if everyone has similar martial (Knights, castles etc) & horror (spooky, Halloween, obsidian) on one end and Elven & Norse in the other then there are really few outliers.

I will dig up some pics when not on the phone.
I'd advice everyone who ask for themes or styles like this to provide pics. This since the artists on the team are very visual persons and it is much easier to instantly get inspired with pictures.

How about doilies that double as shuriken for fashionable female warriors.

The bed with the intertwining branch canopy would go well in the elven houses

I love spring time its a time where everything is fresh and new . So having a touch of spring all year round in our beloved world would be magic. To me this has to be feminine to give birth to new beginnings where everything is young and fresh

I think there are a fair amount of pretty items, but agree we could use more.
A lot of the loot is functional stuff, like the props you can take - spice jars/bowls, dishes, crockery, etc.
A lot of the crafted loot tends to be large furniture items, tables chairs beds etc.
You don't see a lot of things that are pure accessories. There's a couple of nice lamps I guess.

    I'd say we need:
More tabletop type knicknacks. Lamps, different vase/flower styles/arrangements, for example:
We have: Vase + roses = vase of roses
Why not basket + roses = flower basket? Ceramic jars, jugs, bottles, etc. any of these things could have flowers put in. Crafted urns, antique pots etc. also.

What about just pure knicknacks? Tabletop elephant statue, tabletop ship-in-a-bottle, tabletop abstract mini sculptures, just ornaments of all types - many of which exist in the game as assets but are nailed down =(

The other thing is color. We have dye, being able to dye things like crafted pillows, rugs, urns, pottery would really help make coordinated things. Even if it was just the basic crafted dyes only. I appreciate from a technical perspective this may be difficult, but what about just adding recipes for main colors? Blue jar, red jar, green jar, grey jar, yellow jar, orange jar.... You increase variety a hundredfold without needing 'new' assets just new colors of assets, which has got to be simpler.

There are a TON of assets in the game that we see in NPC areas that we can't have! Why can't we have them?
I'm talking about all the fancy in artifice, or all the cool unique props/furniture we see in npc towns - for example, there's a furniture set in Celestis I've had my eye on for ages. The paper lanterns, the variety of jars/bottles/etc. that you see but can't pick up. A lot of this stuff the assets already exist for...we just need a way to make them.

As a gender neutral, millennial vegan the very idea of this offends me
