not too impressed with any of the above linked press, but as the saying goes bad press is better than no press! Igot a headache just trying to read through some of the above links.

The comment section was worth a read though!

To be fair, the last one is the local Austin newspaper, so it's not surprising if you hadn't heard of it.

Waiting on more mainstream coverage like PC Gamer or Rock Paper Shotgun. Most of these sites are close to being small blogs.

You should also take a moment to see what the comment sections have to say. These aren't the usual "trolls" or "organized movement against the game", but potential customers or people who have played it in trials or otherwise.

Also I dunno why on a good chunk of these you link straight to the comment section and not the article.

Because I always read then head down to the comments, then go back and get links. I think have fixed them without breaking them.

Really? Because I recognize a lot of the names. Same collection of characters on every stream, getting their shots in.

The problem is a lot of people seem to think anything critical of the game is "trolling".

If the same general small group of people go out of their way to seek out make the same complaints on every thread that pops up concerning the game, at what point does it cross the line into trolling? And they're generally Early commentors, which suggests they're Actively seeking out new thread on which to repeat their same complaints.

Amazing isnt it? I cannot believe the hate that they have. The 'raw' site is unreal. Comical to be honest.

    Truly comical.

But thanks for posting the links!

Agreed, but the same "vocal fans" are in the comments as well, I partake in the raw subreddit and have no problem saying it, but i don't take it outside of there as it's an outlet for criticisms I can't voice here without moderation. I like varied opinions and sure it tends to be the same names without alts, they also partake in comment sections, but at the same time you have the same people vehemently defending the game in comment sections etc and hearing from the same names and arguments all the time is tiring.

Look at who partakes in making a ton of threads in the official reddit and steam forums for example.

It takes a religious-like fervor to find and comment on every mention of SotA. It doesn't matter if the voice is pro or con, it's all zealotry. Viewers soon learn it's best to ignore zealots.

I think that came hand in hand with this not just being a normal priced game people bought, but due to the Kickstarter and people buying in for hundreds or thousands of dollars, otherwise most people would have moved on.

You're entitled to your opinion, but I openly partake in both unofficial sota reddits and here for a overall take and content one doesn't have over the others.

Keep in mind reddit and steam are places where a lot of people go to first though, especially with reddit being a large site with subreddits not just on games but everything.

And you're entitled to that opinion, not trying to say anyone isn't, but once again the unofficial SotA subreddit has more users, content and engagement than the official one. Where do you think people who want an opinion outside of the official forums are going to go?

There's bad actors on both sides, hell i reported a thread yesterday on the unofficial subreddit yesterday titled "WARNING: New players stay clear! Go to the main forums or official reddit."

The mods on the unofficial subreddit have been working really hard to turn it around as a place both critics and fans can discuss the game without fear of moderation unless it violates rules like trolling or personal attacks. I don't see why this should be viewed as a bad thing.
