PoT Music Broadcasting

Now that it appears that we will have the ability to choose music and playlists in your own PoT using the wax cylinders.

Will the custom PoT songs make it to wax cylinders?

It would seem to me that some curated pathway for player created music to be available on wax cylinder could be made available on an ongoing basis. Perhaps they will come out with a wax cylinder cutter, for people to craft and sell their own wax cylinders with their new music. Perhaps the wax cylinder cutter could duplicate an existing cylinder.

The add-on store could sell colored cylinders for use on the wax cylinder cutters, or even offer the curated cylinders for sale.

 

I hope so, I have a custom POT song that is still awaiting approval from RG. It would be great to have those songs on cylinders as well.

 

i believe darkstarr said they'd make custom cylinders through a support request (without a token needed, unless you're changing something you already did.)

Why not going the full distance and - like with books and magic presses - create an entire market/profession/crafting subtree for musicians?

A Wax Chisel, raw cylinders, sheet music, some skills, and voila'! Music inclined people can upload their own creations into wax cylinders to be used as background music for POTs, for their own home phonographs, as musical scores for events (imagine broadcasting Shooter's waxes during his album launch and following quest!), etc.

Devs would need to work on this only once and not on demand, and players will provide the rest of raw (wo)manpower, faithful to true crowdsourced principles.

 

And we have copyright violations being abused. Unfortunately, that will happen.

 

True, but nothing different from now, with books and ABC/MMC sound files.
