    Beginner's Guide to Agriculture

So you want to be a farmer, but unsure what to do and where to start. You have come to the right place. Please remove your fancy armors and weapons because you won’t need them from this point forward. There are multiple videos and forum posts out there to help you to get your foot into the agriculture doors. Understanding the fundamental of agriculture is the key to agriculture success.

This is my favorite website which guides you to the basics agriculture knowledge. https://www.sotalore.com/farming

More basic tutorials from other players:

    Required Knowledge:

    1. Agriculture skills : Water, Sow, Harvest

    2. Seed Types: Slow, Medium, and Fast

    3. Time: Duration between watering your plants

    4. Environmental Duration: Indoor/basement (0.1x), outdoor (1.0x), greenhouse (2.0x) farming,

    5. Location: Where to buy the seeds http://sotawiki.net/sota/Category:Seeds

    Tools & Equipment required:

    1. Hoe (From NPC's Crafting Merchant)

    2. Seeds (From NPC's Farmer & Textiler)

    3. Small planting beds or pots (From NPC's Crafting Merchant)

    4. Bucket of water (From Crafting Merchant or a water well/fountain)

    5. A Water Well or Fountain (You can make one yourself, or buy from player’s vendors) http://sotawiki.net/sota/Water_Well

    6. At a minimum, you must own a Row House lot (Either Place Anywhere or Player Owned Town Deed). If you’re renting a room at an Inn, you can ask the landlord to let you have access to their planting beds/pots.

    7. (Optional) Four-story Row Greenhouse

At this early stage, you want to experiment and get comfortable growing your crops. Ensure to maximize your crops’ output by water the plants on-time (four times within the growing period). Once you are comfortable with watering and maximizing your crops’ output, you are ready for the next Journeyman level.

    Tips:

    1. Outdoor. Outdoor is considered growing outside your home to include growing on the rooftop. Remember your Row Lot outdoor decoration limit is 10, so a small planting bed is counted as 4 (not 1). A pot count as 1. I suggest growing a few Pots outdoor (1.0x) to get yourself familiarize with the process (Sow, Water, and Harvest).

    2. Greenhouse. If you have a Four-story Row Greenhouse, you can experiment growing your plants in a greenhouse environment (2.0x). Greenhouse would double your seeds growth time. Avoid growing in the greenhouse if you don’t have enough time to water your plants.

    3. Place a Water Well or fountain inside your house or in the basement. You can gather water from the town water well location. Start using the “E” key on your keyboard, instead of clicking your mouse. Or you can buy water from the NPC Merchant.

    4. Drag the seed icon from your inventory to the empty hotkey.

    Happy Farming !

Fantastic. Would you mind posting this as a Steam Guide as well? We're sorely hurting for content there, and lots of players never make it into the forums.

Adrian any idea what level you need to have sow seeds ..in order to hit a third planter pot with 100 % efficiency..right now if you have 3 pots on top of each other the last one at the bottom is onl 95% covered with seeds when planting.

I don’t know the answer to your question. Devs won’t release the information so it’s unknown to me. At 108 Level in Sowing, I’m still having a hard time hitting the bottom pots. So to be safe, just sow more than you have to. Ensure to overlap the circles to ensure all spots are hit at the bottom.

For example, I usually pick and hit all three spots on the planter bed. I might take pictures of this for better understanding.

Can I apply these tips and guides to brewing too?
