Oops, I'll add Desolis back in! Thanks for spotting that Eriador!

I've also updated the Hidden Vale map thread as I redid that using Photoshop CC as well.

New images up! This week we have:
    - Crucible

Only 5 more jigsaw puzzle pieces to go and the map will be complete! Well, in its current iteration anyways. It's been said that the latitude / longitude lines will change since the Hidden Vale now overlaps with the original location of Novia, which I posted about here. So I do wonder when we'll get a new final map with this change and any other changes made to the already released pieces.

With that said, let's take a look at the current iteration and count the places of interest (POI) revealed so far:
    - 4 cities: Brittany, Resolute, Aerie, and Ardoris
    - 25 towns or villages: Valhold, Estgard, Harvest, Port Graff, Point West, Bloodriver, Vertas, Jaanaford, Hilt, Kiln, Desolis, Etceter, Solania, Eastreach Gap, Solace Bridge, Celestis, Tempest, Rage, and 8 unlabeled
    - 11 dungeons or mines: Skrekk, Crucible, Necropolis, and 8 unlabeled
    - 9 ruins: Dysborg, Libris, Opalis, Midras, and 5 unlabeled

There are also about 8 unlabeled bridges which may also be unique scenes. All other hexes on the map will assumed to be generated from the templated scene types and will have non-story / random content.

This gives us a total of at least 49 unique story-driven POIs to visit, some of which may extend across multiple scenes depending on their size. Brittany for instance may be large enough to require 3-4 scenes to explore. How do you feel about this guestimate of unique places to explore for Episode 1?

Clearly, we're not going to have the scale or content of Skyrim, which has some 371 "discoverable" locations on the map. Having said that, the devs did say that Novia only represents 10% of the world map, so after 5 episodes we might just have an enormous amount of content to explore.

Yes, well at least for episode one. Since they can switch out hexes at will, we have more than enough room to grow and add places and scenes.

I'm psyched! The map is great and one of the biggest things I love about this project. Really stands up there with some of the best maps and I'm glad they left other continents available for discovery.

We want to see an underworld this big next :D

One thing that it's way better than Skyrim on : It's not all mountains, all the time :)

There's a little bit of weirdness with the colors not all being the same shade between all the pieces.

Has anyone asked Stephen Daniele about that ?

It does seem a bit off, but likely due to getting puzzle pieces at different iterations of the map. Thankfully we only have 4 more pieces to go so we won't have to wait that much longer for the final version.

So this week's piece has been added to the OP, which now reveals:
    - Artifice
    - Xenos
    - River Fall
    - Rumor Peaks
    - Elysium
    - Crags

Maps updated with this week's puzzle piece. The lighthouse wasn't labeled though, so no runic translation this time...

....and it's done! The OP updated with the final piece which now gives us:

    - Grunvald (region)
    - Brisach (river)
    - Eylo (river)
    - The Vauban (range)

I hope they release the final map without all the jigsaw puzzle piece lines soon! If we're lucky, they'll reveal it in all its glory for E3! :)
