Can't Complete Morton's Ledger question

I have gone to Morton's wife in Kingsport and she will never recognize that I have found her husband and give me the ledge even though she does respond to me telling her that her husband is in Owls Head.

 

Can you get to the point where she asks the question of whether or not you think Morton will return if she give you the ledger?

 

Say to alicia "morton will return if you give me the ledger" then say yes to her question if he will return if she gives you the ledger (ratty ole thing)
