    Rinaldi's List of Useful Links (v. 8/13/22)

    Recently added:

    Mimner's deck building video guides.
Note: This is my list of useful links, which I am sharing with the SOTA community. There are many useful SOTA links/websites that are not on this list. It is not meant to be a comprehensive list! This is simply a list of sites that I have used often or needed to use while playing SOTA. I may update this list in the future. Thanks to the creators of these posts, websites, and utilities. Enjoy!

Also see Elgarion's Help for New & existing Players

How to post pictures on the forums
See the last section at the end of this post.

Useful Chat Commands (most of these are not on the Reference Card!)
    • "/copy" - copies the contents of the chat log to the clipboard. This is very useful if you want to copy and paste some text (such as a website or link) from the chat window.
    • "/loctrack" - toggles on/off your current location coordinates in the upper left of the game window. The location coordinates change in real-time while you move around.
    • "/loc" - copies your current zone & location coordinates to the clipboard.
    • "/visible" - toggles the visibility of your avatar to make him/her visible or invisible. This is very helpful if you want to remove your avatar for a screenshot.
    • "/age" - shows your total time in the game (which is a combination of playing time and afk time).
    • "/debug" - toggles on/off the debug information bar at the top of the screen. Info includes frames per second (FPS) and list of errors. Click the small slider-switch in the upper right corner to expand the list of errors.
    • "/bug" - use this command to report bugs in the public releases of SOTA. It opens your internet browser to the bug reporting section in the forums & copies a bug report to your clip board. Once you have created the thread for your bug, paste the bug report into your post, and fill in the details. See "Bug Reporting" section below for more details. For the QA builds, use "/devbug" to report bugs (this works the same way, except it opens your browser to the QA bug reporting section).

    • Collect all of the emotes
    • Puzzles - if you like solving puzzles, this post is a list of zones that contain puzzles (and if you want spoilers/hints, you can click on the zone and it will take you to the post with spoilers).
    • Easter Eggs - here is a list of Easter eggs with links to more spoilers. Some people like to hunt for them on their own, while others like to just go check them out. If you just wanna check them out, then this list may be for you.
    • Community events -these include role playing events, in-game theatrical plays, fishing contests, swap meets, PVP tournaments, crafting seminar's, social gatherings, etc. Some are one-time events, others are recurring events (weekly or monthly). Avatar's Circle has an evens calendar. Also, see the Community Events section of these forums.
    • Player created quests - these are often very creative and fun. These are typically posted in the forums, but you can also find them by reading in-game bulletin boards and posted notes in player run towns. Check the Community Events section of these forums to find more player run quests.
    • Seasonal bosses - these are only present a few months out of the year. They include Krampus (East Sanctus Forrest), death bunny (Spectral Mines), pumpkin head (East Vauban Foothills), Envy angel (Necropolis Barrens), atavists (overworld encounters), and aether creatures (many zones). Each seasonal creature is present for about 2-3 months out of the year (except aether creatures, which only arrive when the comet comes close to novia). Most of these seasonal beasts drop unique rare items. To find out more, talk to Kinga or Ronin, who are inside Brittany Castle in Central Brittany.
    • Year round bosses - there is a range from low level bosses to very high level bosses. Some of the bosses include:
      • phoenix - in Wynton's Folly (on hidden vale)
      • daemons - in solania catacombs & in the mines of northwest blackblade mountains.
      • dragons - present in many locations including the rise, krul, the fall (PVP), blood bay (PVP), south grunvald barrens, northwest blackblade mountains, etc.
      • lich bosses - rare spawn in deep ravenswood, always spawn in the ruins of ravensmoor, and always spawn in owls head sewers.
      • ghost corpian - in Wyrmsands (on hidden vale)
      • skeleton boss - in Tartarus
      • trolls - present in many zones; some of the higher level trolls are in Ruined keep, Ravensmoor, and Lost vale.
      • boss spider - in the mines of Spectral Peaks.
      • cabalists - these show up in most sieges after you kill all the siege engineers & they are also in the Lost vale.
      • Obsidian destroyer bear - sometimes spawns in twins foot hills.
      • Unicorns - sometimes spawn in overworld stag encounters.
      • More boss creatures are in the Despair dungeon.
    • Fights with difficulty progression - these battles get tougher with each wave, and are meant to be be fought with a group of players.
      • Compendium of Pain and Suffering - each room gets progressively harder, and there are different creatures in each room. The entrance is in the cemetery of Braemer.
      • Ulfheim - a series of regions that get progressively harder, and culminate in a boss fight. There are also puzzles that will alter your virtue.
      • Lord British's Castle - a series of regions that get progressively harder. There are also mini-quests that will alter your virtue.
      • The Breach - you must battle waves very high level creatures, including a wave with a final boss. Artifacts that give buffs to your mount will drop here.
      • Control Points - try to maintain a presence on the stone floor on which the banner stands as the waves of creatures attack. You lose the control point when no avatars are the stone floor and a creature stands on the stone floor for a few seconds (the creature "claims" the control point), and the entire series of waves resets (so you start over at the easiest level again). Control point locations include: Vertas pass, Vauban pass, Superstition Canyon, Sanctus Spine, & Eastreach Gap.
      • Grannus Colossus - the main quest line runs through this zone. It's regions get progressively harder (although the difficulty only gets slightly harder with each region).
    • Collect rare items or rare sets of items
      • Fishing - collect all of the rare species
      • Dragons - collect all of the dragon heads (yellow, green, blue, black, white, red, orange, purple, clockwork, aether)
      • Trolls - collect all of the troll parts (head, ribs, thick skin, hip)
      • Mounted heads - collect and mount all of the heads for a given species (wolves, bears, boars, dragons, death bunny, troll, unicorns, etc.).
      • Make a Warlock's Chain - collect 8 rings (one for each magic tree), a heart of vrul, and the 3 recipes (copper chain of elemental power, iron chain of mystical power, warlock's chain).
      • Cowbell & medieval shirt recipe - both are rare drops from reapers.
      • Creepy Dolly - this rare unique item drops from zombie children.
      • Obsidian Armor & weapons - collect the obsidian recipes and obsidian chips, then go the forge in Hilt to make obsidian ingots and craft obsidian armor/weapons.
      • Pirate Tricorn hat of the Cap'n - this unique item drops from the boss skeleton in the Tartarus.
      • Seasonal creatures - collect rare drops from seasonal creatures, such as Krampus' Birch branch, Envy's long bow & quiver, Pumpkin Head's skull staff, Archlapin's items (Death bunny head, paintings, tapestries, confections), Aetheric body parts (Aether dragon head, aether orb, eather poison gland).
      • Cabalist - collect the cabalist rare drops (boots, hoods, weapons, robes).
How to post pictures on the forums
    1. Open https://imgur.com/ - you will archive your image(s) here.
    2. Upload your picture to Imgur - Click "New Post" at the top of the website. Then drag your pic onto the grey box (or use the browse button) to upload your picture to imgur.
    3. Copy the pic's link address - Once the pic is downloaded to imgur, hover the mouse over the downloaded pic and the link will appear in the upper right side of the pic. Click "copy" to copy the link.
    4. Insert the picture into your post - In your post, click the "image" icon on the toolbar to open the dialogue box, paste your pics' link into the box, and then add ".png" to the end of the address, then click "insert"
      For example:
http://imgur.com/XcJ8ksk - link copied from imgur
http://imgur.com/XcJ8ksk.png - link posted to get the pic to show up in the post
    5. To insert more pics, just repeat the steps above.
    6. Trouble shooting - If the pic is not showing up, then check the following:
      • Is the file extension correct? Try ".png" or ".jpg" or ".gif" or ".jpeg" or ".bmp"
      • Is the link correct? On Imgur, do not copy the pics' link from the web browser search box. Copy the link using the copy button that appears in the upper right side of the uploaded picture.

Hello everybody. I made a change to the title of the thread (removed the version number) so that links to this thread will not break every time I change the version. If you previously added this thread to your favorites list or saved its link, please delete the old favorite/link and add a new one. This current thread title will remain permanent, so, from this time forward, links to here will continue to function.
    Thank you,
    Rinaldi

    Hello,
I have been steadily updating this thread, but I don't bother "bumping" the thread when i update the original post, so when you visit, check the "recently added" section at the top of the link list.
However, this time, I wanted to bring special attention to several new and very useful links that I have to added to the list in the last several weeks. Check them out:
Thanks to those who compiled the references above.

Can you add www.sotatraders.com to your list, under either Item Pricing or Crafting (the site handles both aspects).
