COTO exchange time waste

If you going to have different cotos for different things why don't you just break it up as follows.............
10 copper = 1 bronze
10 bronze = 1 silver
10 silver = 1 gold

etc....etc....etc...
Its such a waste of time to buy one type of coto for one type of another coto! This game takes up enough time already to do anything.

 

While you can exchange one gold COTO for any other type of COTO, it takes two of any other COTO to get back to a gold COTO.

 

If they had gone with a valued coin system, instead of this one per potion thing where most of them are only useful for one potion and half a gold coto, they could be doing telethon livestream sales on the in-game vendors already with fractional coinage. Oh well.

 

hi Barugon... is this feature available on all Crown Merchants? I have a bunch of other COTOs that I'd like to exchange... thanks...

 

It might be just the obsidian alchemists.

 

I tried the one in Ardoris, Obsidian Crown Alchemist there was no option given to me for a conversion. Which one have you been using?

 

I spoke with the one in Resolute, and was definitely able to turn in something like 10 gold CotOs to get 10 copper ones (whichever is the one for expedience). I think it was the obsidian alchemist automaton. If it wasn't the obsidian alchemist guy, it was the one that is right in the same area there.

 

I saw someone talking about this before but I also am unable to change coins into gold crowns at obsidian alchemists.

I would also like to know if/how it works.

 

I thought the exchange was always 2-for-1, but it makes sense to have 1-for-1 from gold to get the potions. If I can change to gold 1-for-1, I'd do it so fast.

 

Many of them exchange Gold COTO's for the other types. What they are asking for is where can you exchange the other COTO's (Bronze, Iron, Meteoric, etc) for Gold COTO's.

These Obsidian Potion Merchants used to exchange them for gold ones, but I just checked out 2 of them and they don't seem to do that any more.

 

This is what I've been looking for, someone mentioned it could be done in another thread, first time I had heard about it .. but no prompts on any I've tried so far either.

 

It's been a long time since I checked into this, so I have no further information.

 

I checked various Crown Merchants but did not find this feature...

You could never convert non-gold COTOS to gold COTOS at npc merchants, only ever other way around.

It could be that it was easy enough to implement different COTO types when they put in gold, with some future use (other than obsidian potions) for non-gold COTOs yet to be implemented. But given that they can be traded for gold easily, it doesn't seem to make sense. Yet, at least.

Or, maybe the initial idea was non-gold COTOs would drop more commonly. Then it was determined to make them as rare as gold, so adding the conversion was a way to allow people to still get the obsidian potions?

 

So is the consensus that there really is no way to exchange other cotos for gold cotos? Even a 2-for-1 would be fine with me. Otherwise I guess it's buy the appropriate obsidian potion, sell that, then buy regular gold cotos.

 

No consensus yet that I know. One person has said it can not be done, others have said it can be done, I just hope that its not something like it can only be done at PvP designated Obsidian Alchemists.

 

Gold can be change to any other coto 1 to 1
As long as I have been playing 2016 it has never been a way to change <other coto> to gold

It makes sense as to why from an income sense, they are already giving money away by having gold cotos drop in game, to do so for the other types as well... they may as well shoot themselves in the foot.
