If you put enough blue skeletons on the floor, sooner or later somebody is going to ask LOL

Walking around towns I periodically see blue skeletons on the floor/street. Does anybody know what there purpose is in the game / how they get there / what they are supposed to represent?

I'm been wondering about this for awhile and then today I spent a few hours blasting a practice target along with a few other players. I looked at the floor when leaving and notice there was a huge pile of the blue skeletons in front of the practice target, which I don't think where there when we started. That got me wondering if there was some kind of connection.

    Thanks!

They are indicators of difficulty as they are the remains of fallen players. They fade over time so if you see many of them something awesome/gruesome happened recently.

    Thanks.

What still seems strange is that I see them in non-pvp NPC towns where the NPCs are friendly and can’t angage in combat. I.e. Resolute. The practice target with the huge pile of skeltons in front of it is in the adventure trainer’s shop in Resolute.

Any idea how Avatars could die in this kind of environment in any kind of quantity? I’m seeing way too many for it to be explained by the occasional player offing themselves accidentally fooling around with poison potions, for example.

    PvP gang wars?

They are not neccesarily all different people. I know when I'm in difficult areas for the first time, I might die five or six tines trying to do the same thing. But in towns, presumably it is PvP'ers encountering each other. Might be a bunch, or it might just be one guy gets killed, rezzes, and runs back to get revenge; rinse and repeat.

    Ah, I see.

I never actually seen PvP occur in non-open-PvP areas so I forgot that could even happen.

    Thanks!

Maybe someones leaving a message! I know a Mafia guy that once woke up with a horse head in his bed. LOL
You can also Duel somone and when the unfortunate drops it leaves a skeleton, you can request a duel anywhere in Non PVP, and it will be just between those two only no flag needed.

There are no non PvP towns. Players can PvP anywhere with anyone flagged. We have asked for guards to show some authority to protect the town they are supposed to be guarding but I haven't seen them show a lot of it unless I missed something.

Blue? They have always been white to me. Does anyone else see blue?

Technically, a town can be non-PvP. It doesn't force you to be in PvP when you enter. Sure, you can choose to be PvP yourself and interact with other PvPers, but the town itself doesn't require it.

Very pale blue. Depends on the lighting, I think. Nightvision makes them a little bluer.

If they're in NPC towns, then they lost in PvP.

I am guessing you were in Soltown?
I always wondered why there were so many deaths near the Archery Buttes.

I figure the deaths near the Watchers, were players trying to get negative karma (or whatever it is called in Shroud) by attacking the Watchers.
I know a Guild Mate turned their White Shroud of the Avatar cloak black, by performing negative acts.

I love it when I stroll into a town and there's 20 skeletons all in one spot.... something hit the fan, you can be sure.

Probably some high level dude was having his PvP flag enabled, and other lower level players tried to kill him, but lost trying :)
I love to see those skeletons everywhere hehe.

It is also a good way to tell if there is something very dangerous around the corner in a PVE zone. If there is a pile of dead avatar skeletons, you want to be sure you can take what ever is around that corner.

The Killer Rabbit Cave had tons of blue skeles! Especially at the beginning of the month. Being in a Non-PvP area doesn't stop PvP players from killing each other.

Use your Nearby Player list to tell if there are PvP players within your current zone. They will appear as a ? in the window, at least until you've seen them up close.

I had night vision on when I was looking at them. It’s really a slight blue tint that I’m seeing and I can see how they look white from a certain perspective.
