I really want NPCs that adjust their text after you complete certain events; however, the current iteration of this is highly annoying. Rather than adding new dialogs, many simply get a generic "buzz off" message and won't engage in conversation with you at all!

Not only is this horrible for a sandbox game, it is even worse for an RPG where having NPCs be responsive is even more important! It locks certain achievements (like emotes) behind an unfixable wall, and makes completionists cringe when we cannot even learn NPC names because their generic response automatically exits conversations!

@Lum the Mad Please Fix This!

I'd consider this one a bug. Nothing should be locked out like that when there's more to talk about.

you'd think so, but it's been reported as a bug before and is working as designed.

Wow. Was there a good explanation for why it worked that way, beyond 'this is intended'?

We do this for NPCs when 95% of their conversation has been made obsolete by your actions. Ideally, we would make effectively new conversations in that instance and sometimes do, but sometimes time constraints prohibit this.

If there is still gameplay locked out after that (such as emote awards or sidequests that are not also obsoleted), that is in fact a bug.

Ok, I'll resubmit for Kardan. The one that I thought was blocking in Spite turned out to be the wrong NPC, so there is only one that I can tell.
