You definitely wouldn't want every Reaper dropping Ashen Heartwood and Cowbells. This would devalue the items you are correct. It would also be the opposite of instant gratification in this scenario because those are items that you have to either A. Sell over a public vendor B. Sell to another player or B. Craft something with it, then sell that. Instant gratification should come in the form of gold imo.

Hey, I would accept 50gp. . that's 50 x better than the current amount that drops LOL The funny thing though is that I went after the Reaper because I was tired of farming the same thing for gold over and over and over. . it was new and challenging. People are already farming them for the cowbells and ashen heartwoods anyway. Why not make the times you don't get those items just a little bit worthwhile?

Interesting to see a resource that Reapers drop has completely plummeted in value, just due to so many people focused on just killing them.

    Fascinating....

Proof that if a creature drops a valuable item, it will be farmed for that item no matter what. This is why you might as well make the times that item doesn't drop worth while.

Add more super rare items of value to farm in other places and watch people spread out! And have more fun in different places!

I guess there are ways to scale the loot, to the highest level doing damage, so if an low level (compared to the reaper) kills it there is an higher basic loot (gold some generic reagents and so on) aside the usual rare items to have.
If an high level compared to the reaper does damage only the rare items apply with the same chance of getting them as usual, but the generic loot/gold is not added.

So lower levels are rewarded for the hard work/higher risk

I didn't say it was an exploit, I said it could be exploited. I'm pretty sure I'm using the word exploit correctly.

I agree completely. Although after about 300 I did finally get a cowbell. And, I can make a few decent wands with the ashen heartwood and scrolls with the pulp. Not a bad deal at all.

Journal entry: It's day 5 of non-stop Reaper farming. No cowbell or shirt recipe. We will endure...and keep farming. lol.

Are there any confirmed drops since this last release? Since the last patch?

@Nikko the cowbell also since it is equipped in the instrument slot will play a part in any song. So if you synced it with other instruments then that sound would play throughout the whole song. I have not tried it but I am assuming it would last just as long as the part you had chosen on your sheet music. Well it is definitely not the instrument I was hoping for which would have been a horn or saxophone or something like that but it is an interesting addition to our instruments. Some songs maybe very interesting with it or maybe not;)

A friend and me have been farming for cowbells for the last 2 weeks - after approx. 500-550 Reaper we have: roughly 50 Ashen Heartwood, 3 Recipes for the Shirt, 2 Cowbells and 1 golden Belt Buckle.

    feel the Rythm !
