So i bought a new hard drive and installed a fresh clean copy of windows 10 home and now i can't get my map to work at all. I'm thinking there is a setting somewhere in windows that is not checked right. when i pull up my map this is what i get. The following takes you to the forum post. Please visit this forum post for possible fixes All the Files they state here are there and not quarantined. Any suggestions for what i can do would be appreciated.
So to be sure, is this what happens when you try to open the map inside the game, or do you have a saved link to the map? I ask because that looks like the map you refer to is a link to a file stored on a site called photobucket. The account hosting that site has used up all the bandwidth allowed. You should just save the file to your computer and then it will always load. The map has been broken for me for a while but it never shows that image.
Ahhh...it loads now. Ok, I haven't gotten that screen but it did lock up on me a lot before R53. I'll do some more testing tonight.
Greetings all, during the live stream darkstarr noted that the problem with the map on Linux was related to a Chrome plug-in that renders the image. This is not Jacob but a plug-in he used that was not compatible with Linux. It will be a bit before they get this fixed.
So does everyone here still believe that having an ingame map as a plugin web app instead of being native to the game like... every other game out there, is still a good idea?
Nope, I still think they should start working on a native ingame map. This is do-able. And it will work for M$ and GNU/Linux. Although it will be a bit more work then just using a a ingame browser pointing to a remote out of game webserver. But in the end, it will be so much faster and make everyone happy.
I'm actually not having much of a problem with it, other than the fact it's missing some scenes. But I'm on a mac. Lucky it works at all
