I have the Shroud!!

I finished the Love story quest the other night (thank goodness for Samuel being a companion!) and thought I would try my luck at the Shroud questline. Given everything I had read about it I was afraid that I would get squished and would never get to see it as I am only adventure level 56.

Anyway, I thought I would embark on the journey anyway and I am glad I did! Here is the mandatory screenshot I was supposed to take according to the ending text:



So how was the journey? Some of my points/feedback can be found below:

• Given my low level it was easier for me to risk the PvP in the ruins to get the pages rather than get through the tunnels. During this time I have come to the conclusion that the ruins adventure zones are some of the best designed in the game and it is a shame they are forced PvP zones.
• Sequanna Colossus is well done, if a little high level for me
• Boreas Colossus had some awesome puzzles. Shame that, due to my low level, I couldn't sit idly by and read while I ran for my life (Had to rely on Cheating via @Rinaldi guide. Thanks Bud!)
• Grannus Colossus was brutal! I was lucky that this is a very popular grinding spot and I teamed up with another player. There is no way I would have survived the different challenges on the way to the top!
• Oracle Colossus is.. I hate to say it, a horrible zone! So many jump puzzles, so many deaths... I am never going back again!
• Hilt Fortress was awesome! When I am higher in level I will definitely go exploring there at some stage

  The story ending was very unfulfilling. I have never played an Ultima game to the end before, however surely there is some all mighty evil to smite! The Prophecy mentioned the Obsidian lord, yet Chapter 1 ends with my journey taking place over the sea in I assume chapter 2. Maybe this is just meant to be an introduction to the greater story to take place over the next 4 chapters, however right now I fill unfulfilled

So there we go! It is possible (With some help) to get the Shroud at a lower level

I also have to concur that the Twitter and other "outlander world" references are kind of an eyesore - can that just get sent as an email or something? I dont want to see "earth references" in game, or anything about contemporary IRL culture / social media...

My avatar is not from Earth. My avatar is from Sosaria, and was there so long his soul has no memory of Earth. It just hits me as anachronistic or something else just as uncanny. The actual "go message LB" part is just fine, but pls no more non-Novian references.

Also, I have not, and will not ever have a Twitter account. You basically asked me to go order a Big Mac at McDonald's to celebrate my victory. Pls fix this before the new player base with the launch has time to level up and see it. TIA :-D

Thanks for all the well wishes guys. I have read some of the comments here and think I need to follow-up with a list of short and medium term goals I am going to concentrate on (The story isn't the sole reason I play and besides need other quests to keep me busy waiting for ep 2):

• Grind encounters to get the courage virtue gloves (Sick of the survey npc spawning)
• Delve into all the skill trees and get most skills to level 40 as a "Teaser" into each trees abilities
• Once I have done the above, decide where to specialise
• Replace my current home with one which I have made myself and replace all decorations with either crafted ones or ones bought with gold from the housing vendor in-game. I might also move out of Spite but not decided yet.

He responds personally to people who tweet him their accomplishment. Why do you have a problem with that? It carries on a decades long tradition that goes back to the very beginnings of the Ultima Franchise.

This is, afterall, the spiritual successor to that franchise. It seems entirely appropriate that the tradition be carried on.
