Double XP: As A Worldwide Coin Sink

    Gather, gather, gather round my friends! A blessing, a boon, a ritual is that which I offer. A patchwork painted man wearing a jester's outfit barked at a Central Brittany fountain. Imagine a magic uncovered that could unlock the potential of the mind and the body! No mere enlightenment but a holistic improvement in one's abilities to learn from their deeds! What a miracle, you may be thinking and you would be right! Sadly miracles are expensive. Magic on this scale requires rituals most pricey! The jingle of bells as he shook his head sounded remarkably like gold coins clinking together. But with your help we could make this a reality! Open your pockets and open your minds!

    Double XP as a telethon reward is a cool thing. But let us imagine if it could be earned through in-game play. My idea is essentially that players through the expenditure of in-game gold to some manner of NPCs could trigger a period (24 hours? 48 hours? A week?) of double XP whenever a given gold threshold is met. Said gold threshold can be adjusted over time to account for amount of gold in the economy or if people are buying into the double XP too often and keeping it going constantly. This double XP would be server-wide, just as the current double XP boons are.

    Or maybe it is just +50% XP, or +25% XP.

    This is a something of a cool incentive players can work together to keep going, and would serve double duty as an effective adjustable coin sink beyond lot taxes (which many still avoid) and crafting.

    Maybe the cost in gold increases with each time achieved, and then slowly reduces toward the base over time if not re-purchased.

    Sacrifice of XP in decay pool could also be used to power it. But that would likely hinder the same people trying to activate it and might not be a cost folks would be willing to pay. especially at the high end.
