Yes... Some members in the community are rich beyond Everest in game. They pour a mountain of gold into the raffle system on multiple accounts that they paid thousands for.
They buy gold, they run successful businesses in game, and they know to make money they have to spend money...

So I tell ya what... Whose reading this thread, brand new to the game, and don't have a damn thing?

The Duke here spends 1.5mil every month and he wins a ton... But he also has a freakin heart...
Who don't have a home? Who needs a home? I got a row home inside the grounds of a manor, behind castle walls, that you don't have to pay a dime for...
You can live there for the rest of your natural born days in Shroud or until you decide to do something else...

And @Boedy Arc, I wasn't directing this post at you. I quoted you so I could chime in with you... 300k is nothing to sneeze at in this game. That's a chunk of change too.

 

The trending is actually down from previous threads with the tomato tossing, so while there are a few statistical outliers, tomato sales as a food item should be on schedule to outpace pitchfork sales as a protest element.

Are you saying that after a character has won, they will not win again in the raffle?

Reason I'm asking is because I didn't start pouring on the tamale sauce until last month, and I been hitting like a champ...

However I did notice that I didn't win nothing on the 2 accounts I won on last month.

And if your saying that once a toon wins, they're out the loop, then it's rigged, and somebody needs to call Donald Trump...

 

I'm pretty sure that's wrong. The only limitation is that you can win one POT and one PA per raffle. (Per account, of course.) That's one of each type, not size. And again, that's per raffle.

As pointed out multiple accounts are being used to skirt the probabilities of the raffle system. Because this is (apparently?) against the rules, its my opinion this is an exploit. Use of the word "Exploit" is double edged, because some may see this as a business opportunity (which isn't necessarily a bad thing) and some may see this as a way to break the rules.

Based on the intentions for the raffle rules change as laid down by Portalarium, I've opted to both not exploit this as an opportunity and advise players not to exploit it.

Lottery is in the name, your spending money to make money. Some may win a deed and set up house and put up a painting or plants hurray. But the majority of gold sink going into the monthly lottery is from players with bank who buy tons of tickets when they have houses all over the place or vendors who sell deeds to make more money to invest in more lotteries yada yada yada. There is really no reason to be upset over this. It's as real world as you can get in a game. If you can't afford the risk or the follow up sadness from not winning. Invest the bare minimum 15k and hope for the best or skip it all together and save your gold up instead of gambling and buy one yourself. It's more rewarding to have saved enough, bought one and set up your own little slice of heaven than waiting for the lottery gods to shine down on you.

 

Yea well, it's not an exploit if I spent $20,000.00 for the privilege...

Wow, this is awesome news. I have been growing tons of tomatoes on my empty village lot for the past week. Based on this thread, I timed the market just right!!! Cha-Ching!!!!

 

Yeah they say I'm wrong. I had thought you could win one of each size. I understand anyone who wins means perhaps that lot goes for sale in game for gold and some times it goes for real money. I had just given a few players cash for their first lottery tickets. I was really hoping to see one of them win. But really in the long run that has to be their journey to how to own property I really am happy for the winners.

If he can't afford the COTO there are plenty of Avatars who have setup Tavern's and Inn's throughout Novia at no charge to help out the new Outlanders. It's not like there are no opportunities for a place to hang your hat.

 

True. Or just claim a smaller location with that City Deed that costs dramatically less until his fortunes change.
