Maybe one step closer to importing individual heraldry shield art? hmm.... o_O
Whatever comes of it, it should be interesting ;)

    Hello Community,

I want to personally give you an update with the Fine Arts of Forsaken Virtues.

As we all have seen with the most recent exciting monthly game releases... our friends at Portalarium are severely ramping up the content and making great progress/push with our game.

This community project that we are starting will require some technical support from our friends and with the limited staff and valuable time we have been kindly asked to hold off on this project for a few months at the earliest.

Fine Arts of Forsaken Virtues will 100% go into full effect and both sides want to make sure we do it right and are being transparent. I am personally committed to this endeavor and will see it through and make sure our community Avatar Art has a place within our game.

We have a very talented community and this will not go unnoticed as both parties (Fine Arts and Portalarium) are very excited to see this through and done properly.

In the meantime (until further notice) keep the Creative Bush moving... we will be back as soon as possible.

For those that have already submitted artwork to me, I will keep these in a cue folder and anyone else that wants to submit as well please feel free to message me or send it to: sotafinearts@gmail.com

    Sincerely,

    -Mad Hatter

I have a feeling this died on the vine, before bearing fruit.

Perhaps this bump will relight the flame.

Is there any chance this is out of the hibernation stage, @Mad Hatter ??

I noticed there's been a ton of new picture bundles added to the add-on store, and was optimistic, but I'll take the lack of activity as confirmation that this is no longer a thing. In general, it would have at least been nice to have a little sub-forum out of the way for exhibiting fan art. I think we have places for poetry, and other arts but not visual as far as I'm aware. There was a Flickr account set up for submissions too (I believe), but that also just died with no one managing it.

    @Berek ? Know anything?

I actually have a couple pieces of work I wouldn't mind submitting.

I'm wondering if someone could take this over? hmmm what would that entail?

The last report we had was that it was tabled by the business office as Hatter was proposing a release form of some kind and that it would be revisited when there was time.

If Hatter is on hiatus, then we would need to see if Portalarium (or dallas) has the cycles to re-engage in the business end of it.

I never got the impression that was the issue. They've already implemented non employee works into the game without incident across multiple releases. They also currently accept heraldry art for us in the game without much difficulty. (Not counting the generator stuff, only the freehand work). Prior to that, Dev plus folks were able to submit 3d assets and textures but I gather it was quite a bit of work. I don't think it's a business issue, or even a legal one. To my knowledge, no one has even suggested compensation was a requirement.

I always assumed it was a limitation of resources. There isn't even enough resources to provide Unity Assets to backers anymore. As for Mad Hatter, he's been unresponsive since at least April 1st.

I am only stating what was last relayed to the Fine Arts Committee before it went into hibernation.

Hatter wanted a path where there was a clear release of work to Portalarium for anything being accepted as 2-D art like a painting for wall art. It was more about building a pathways from ingest to world placement.
