Details: This has been a bug since 2016 possibly. Fix this already
Steps to Reproduce: Create an order or list an item for sale, enter a qty or price and the first number you press is not recognized.

I am unable to reproduce this issue. Here are the steps that I took:

1) Double-click on a vendor to open the vendor UI.
2) Click on the Manage Orders tab.
3) Double-click Amethyst. A listing creation dialog appears.
4) Click inside of the Quantity field. All of the text inside becomes highlighted/selected.
5) Type a number, such as 963. No issue observed.

Are these the same steps that you take to reproduce the bug?

 

This is happening to me, too, on an intermittent basis.

I don’t think it happens on public vendors, but definitely on a player vendor in New Brittania Market. (At the lot owned by Linthu.)

When trying to list a buy order of 50 qty gold ore I am not able to get the autofilled 1 to go away so my workaround is to have a buy order of 100 instead of 50 qty. It is not a blocker, but not ideal.

I hope this helps. I am writing this on a tablet but can add my bug detail text ncxt time it happens in game.

I am playing on a Mac using Steam.
