Steam Users: Want to be counted in the numbers? [Corrected, you are being counted]

    I DO want to get counted, and use Steam after it downloads (the Launcher while I wait), but haven't been in any of the number since Steam changed it's setup in April.

    So if you want your play time to count in the Steamcharts here's how to make it happen:

    Go into your Steam Profile -> Privacy Settings -> Game Details and set the to Public.

    ----

    Update:

    Concurrent users is correct, everything else is hazy.

    And they would appreciate us opting in to help with that other data.

    But that means you don't have to for us to see users in Steamcharts, and those didn't suffer from this situation.

    It's a blanket change. I checked mine and it was set to Private, so that means I haven't been in the numbers since April 11 if I'm reading this right.

    In other words steamcharts is useless. Mine was set to friends only by default. Does friends only count you in the number of players playing ?

    Maybe just Steamspy is taking the hit because they use all the advanced data. I may be wrong about concurrency being included.

    Here's a more detailed explanation but it doesn't mention concurrency.

    No. Only friends can see what your playing. Unless you are "public", you are not supposed to be included in any public metric, anonymously or otherwise.. Since Steam is collecting that info, and they know who you are ;)

    It is entirely possible that some games (like SotA) have a higher percentage of people who don't know about or have a reason to make their profiles public. And it could potentially hit games with low numbers the hardest.
