I'm specifically referring to the old-style cloaks that look like capes. The clipping issues have largely been fixed but the cloaks don't billow out behind the avatar when running. As it is, they look more like dresses that have an invisible front.

    Unacceptable.

Fix it for all, or remove it for all and say you can't do it.

Well, I'm going to try out some other cloaks tonight but I expect that they'll have the same issue.

Like many things from the Early Days of the production of the game, it would be nice to see a revamp pass on things like cloaks to make even the older cloaks look better overall yet retain the designs they have.

    Rubbish.

For a game as complex as SOTA, with a myriad of issues to consider, whether a cloak billows in the wind or not is inconsequential. Clipping is a bigger issue but not enough for great concern.

The Devs should maintain effort to producing more quests & content.

    You made me smile, @Greyhaven
Haven't heard that term in a while now. ;)
Oh, I agree with the rest of your comments, btw...
I certainly hope the dev's put the cloak issues down towards the bottom of the list of stuff they need to fix.

I remember I took screen shots and complained about this years ago, glitching cloaks anyway and I did see in the next patch they did work on it, and they flowed differently, but then, new variations of issues came up and it's just not easy I guess, so just consider cloaks done, I got the custom heraldry cloak but I prefer the look of the weathered torn tattered cloak, it'd be cool to see more tattered cloaks in the game or even have the style of cloak be an option for the heraldry cloaks, because I'd choose tattered and torn at the ends

I don't think Tachys' point is about trying to up the priority of cloak fixing. It's about being honest about development and not overpromising/underdelivering.

So the devs have a rough idea of how long it would take to fix, they know how much time they have, they know others priorities (presumably). Take a stand and say... yes, eventually or no it's not possible. Like they did with the duke heads. Lingering open issues like this help no one, because questions/discussion will continue to be raised, this thread being a case in point. The lingering open issues are legion - who knows how they keep focus on what's important.

I fully expect Tachys would agree that it's not a high priority.

It’s not rubbish, it’s another thing they promised they would do and unlike so many things in the past, they should get ahead of it. If they can’t do it, say so and move on to more important things. It’s that simple.

Note: if they actually look at it and decide that they can’t (since they couldn’t even when they had more people to work on it), and say so, yeah... we’d be disappointed, but guess what? They’d be able to focus more fully on things that will matter more, like say... quests and content.

Let me take that one step further... lock in what almost works now, and apply it across the board, then call it done.

I understand that they devs have priorities but how the game looks actually has a significant impact on people's experience with it (at least it does for me). Fortunately, they have said that their focus is currently on polish and fixing bugs, so maybe visual issues like this one will get worked out.

Those cloaks look like a giant squared off triangle, it's so amusing
