UI: corpse nameplates badly need their own toggle, mine as well

UT corpses by the dozens makes having nameplates on a total mess.

I need to be able to have no corpse nameplates (toggle when I am ready), while still having enemies on.

I also would REALLY like to have my nameplate out of the middle of my screen and still be able to see enemies.

 

Your own nameplate is a toggle in the controls I believe. But yes, corpse nameplates are terrible. I have shot a searing ray at many a dead foe because I could not tell if anyone was still moving. Maybe switch to a smaller and more translucent font when getting corpsified?

 

Yes you're right. Really I need the health and the focus, not my name and title though, and would prefer they were not dead center of the screen. I'd shift them down if I could drag them, down by my combat bar.

Still my number #1 biggest complaint about the UI since the day I started. Drives me nuts, gave up complaining at one point and learnt to deal with it

 

Corpse nameplates help me find individual corpses after being drawn away from the main killing zone by wizards and archers.

 

I agree and use it for that too, but right now the complaint is having to turn off ALL nameplates during a big battle because the corpses, which are useless information at that moment, are totally overwhelming the screen.

Corpse nameplates need to be able to be toggled separate of enemies. Then we can toggle them back on (keybinding please) when the battle is over, and go do the looting.

 

Since it is generally known that "more toggles" is not a thing devs like, I still believe that the best "fix" would be to alter the font/size/translucency/color of the nameplate when something dies. This way you could even remove the word "corpse" if it is readily identifiable as a corpse by these changes.

 

Or make an autoloot option. Realistically, my fun level is not increased by having to click on bodies.

Edit: although my "We're trying to make this game feel like it's from my childhood so everything must be done manually" level is.

At least make the corpses nameplates a different color e.g. a darkish grey.

 

Personally, I want undead bodies to say "remains", not "corpse". Technically a zombie or skeleton is already a corpse, even when they are hacking you to bits.

 

I still don't want 30 darker colored nameplates on my screen. Sorry I'm going to stick with "Let us toggle them off, or enable autolooting so we don't have screens clogged by corpse nameplates."

 

Smaller, translucent, and more grey. Easy to see when looking for them, but can be ignored (less obvious) when fighting.

 

I upvote this fix. Ideally for me would be a toggle so finding corpses after the battle would be easy. I don't think coloring the bodies is an ideal fix unless there's a fix to bodies dropping 90 percent through the floor. Why do the dev's no want to do toggles??? Customization is pretty ideal imo. I'd like to be able to set up party members with their name and health bar, (no guild name or title) in a color different than enemies. And health bar only above enemies.

 

Maybe they should just not show the corpses unless you are out of combat?
