There is no race other than one you create? I'm not sure what this fascination is with who has earned the most XP or has the most GM's, or whatever. Just sit back, play the game, explore, see what affects different trees have on your play style... It's not like anyone is ever going to get to +200 in all their skills in this lifetime.

Thanks to all who showed up on these forums to get this done. Removal of decay has been a LONG time coming. It took a long time to convince Chris but he seems to have received the message and done the right thing. We got to this amount of people with decay...lets see if removing it helps at all.

@Mac2 stated in another thread that he loses ~400K experience on the first death. He also had ~109M experience in his pool.

Time will tell? I guess it would depend on the new "solution".

It may be wrecking your game, @Feeyo - but it sure as hell ain't wrecking mine, nor anyone else's that I know.

Hey @liz_the_wiz . If you need to lose something when you die to feel "risk", go PvP. How that ?

I imagine they'll cleanup the UI at some point.

The system was very well thought out, not only as a penalty for death, but as a way to basically soft-cap the "technically" unlimited leveling system. Perfect way to allow progression indefinitely (well, 200 might as well be indefinitely) while still making getting and staying there much harder the further up you went. Risk and reward, beautifully designed. Very sad to see such a well-designed, intelligent mechanic being removed/dumbed down to cater to the masses. I guess the WoW dumb-down-tide eventually sweeps even the most well-intentionned games that try to respect their players' intelligence.

Dude you will never convince the wow crowd. Most current breed of gamers don't like a challenge. They would rather it be easy. Try to make money off it instead of getting a real job, level to god levels and still suck ass, because they don't have to try (think)... they just level. MMOs like FPS were fun to us because they were challenging. New breed of gamers want to be rewarded for participating.
