On the MAC Client, I have massive flickering around anything that looks like stone, with in town and on the overworld. Trying to get a screen shot \ capture for you

UCdXUkw - here is a capture, it flickers really badly.

UPDATE - CAMERA BLOOM is Causing the white blob. Turning off CAMERA BLOOM, no white, just flickering textures.

@BurningToad Yes, the OS X client is giving a real epilepsy light show. It is not limited to stone objects, basically any (planar?) deco object is flashing black. Looking closely at stone texture it has a sort of 'crawling effect' going on. Whole game is painful to look at right now, but will try a few other scenes.

ETA: Decreasing resolution has no effect.

ETA2: Not just user objects, and not just planar. I'm now on overworld and even the mountains are flashing black occasionally.

ETA3: Jumped into Serpent's Spine Foothills at default entrance. Rocks are flashing black and the surface texture looks like it's crawling.

I can also confim. I have a 2015 MacBookPro (w/ discrete GPU) running 10.12.6. Makes the game mostly unplayable. I tried turning down to "Simple" and it didn't change anything.

Thanks for the reports we are able to repro internally now, sorry about the issues. A temporary workaround for now would be to run the game with the -force-glcore command line parameter

I can confirm that the "-force-glcore" option does address the issue.

I'm seeing more graphical lag spikes. But, at least it's playable again and my eye don't want to leap out of my head anymore. :)

@BurningToad can you please update this post when that work around is no longer needed?

    Thanks

Metal starting having issues for me in R58 and has continued into this release, FWIW. Everything was fine up until that release.

However since I updated to Mojave around the same time I don't know if its related to changes in Mojave or is just a SotA issue. Seems like it's probably the latter based on this thread.

At least for me, while that does stop the flashing elements on screen, it also slows the rendering to a crawl on my laptop. Lot of hitching/jank. Looking forward to the official fix.

@LordTradyofBlix I'm not on Mojave, and I am having the issue. It's SotA and/or Unity.

Having the same issue as well on my MacBook Pro. Using -force-glcore gets around the issue, but performance crawls in comparison. Been on Mojave since it came out, and release 58 was fine. This issue is new for release 59 for me.

For the record, bug still present in build 852.
ETA: Just in case it helps in diagnosis, other than the crawling stone textures, the problem I see is rendered objects / areas flashing black. However, the red stall awning at:

    Area: Rift's End (POT_island_metropolis_01_template/Rift's End) Loc: (24.7, 89.0, 7.2) DBG: UE9UX2lzbGFuZF9tZXRyb3BvbGlzXzAxX3RlbXBsYXRlfFJpZnQncyBFbmR8KDI0LjY1NSwgODkuMDAyLCA3LjIzMil8KDAsIDAuNTQ1LCAwLCAwLjgzOCl8NDEwLjc1N3wyMC43NTUwNHwzLjk5MDMxMw==

instead flashes a number of strange colors, as does the one at the lot next door. Just in case there is something unique about that render that will help diagnosis...

Maybe that has to do something with it?

Apple eventually wont support opengl, but that time is not now.

They do have some restrictions on it.

But fundamentally this is a Sota / Unity problem, not an Apple one.

Since 852 my video is spazzing. Im getting bad flicker. Turned off camera bloom and the white flicker turns to black flicker but still FLICKERS!!! Plus graphics are ripped and torn and stretched in places.
