    I sell a lot of my wares to NPc's for the crappy amount just to get my name out there more :)

    Yup, was looking all over the place to find my shield, this was before we could lock item in the inventory..... Slipped in crap I was selling to Theo in Owl's head !

    He kept denying I sold that to him ! Thanx for the proof ! Time to take him to court !

    Um sorry but I see a small problem - I could place an item on a NPC vendor and then buy it immediately and would that add it to the pool?

    Ok so it has to be sold to an NPC to enter the pool, kool, but D A M N that piece was costly to make and losing it???????

    I think they are saying like public vendors when it expires and auto sold to the npc.

    Never sold on public vendors. But did sell to npc ( ie: Theo the blacksmith in owl's head ) By mistake.... And, this is where I think the pool comes from. Would need to look back at release notes

    That's pretty cool! Do you remember how long ago it was that you accidentally sold it? I wonder if all the items that have ever been accidentally sold to npcs are still in the loot tables? Or maybe it just started on a certain release?

    Only items that go into that pool are things sold to merchants. For R60 I dramatically increased drop rates and also added them to the drop tables for most humans. Enjoy! Also, WOW, I expect that guy didn't mean to sell that! :p

    Edit: You are correct that public vendors expire stuff to merchant sale and sends you the gold. So yeah, very likely an expired thing.

    Does this just happen with gear, btw? What if you were to make a book, write a journal entry that would be a 'quest starter' in it, and then sell it to an NPC?

    I strongly believe that expired items should just go into your bank. The commission has already been paid and just getting the default value is the crappiest thing ever.

    I've accidentally sold items I didn't mean to. I once sold my heraldry gloves. This is the first mmo i've played that didn't have a buy back feature for this very reason.

    A few days ago I found in my possession some miscellaneous item crafted by another player (wasn't impressive +2 or 3 something or other). My first thought was I accidentally purchased it from a public vendor - but I couldn't place how/where. Then today with not much on me (traveling light) I entered an adventuring area, became encumbered, so left to the closest town to scrap my loot. In my possession was some +1 cloth shoes crafted by another player. When NOT playing PVP can loot contain items crafted by others or am I doing something really odd I am unaware of?

    things that get sold to npcs, enter into the loot table. You can get them as drops or from supply bundles too :).
