    Baits are not restricted by water type.

    @Bzus

    Can you at least make it so that non-gemmed lures (worms, minnows, leeches, etc.) get an extremely large negative modifier when fishing in lava? say -100%, -200%?

    That way - at least you'd get a 0 or <1% chance when fishing in lava with minnows.

    Otherwise - if you get "normal" success % when fishing in lava with minnows, then there's no real reason to use or craft the extremely expensive gemmed lures.
    (when you can just buy hundreds of very inexpensive minnows instead)

    There is currently no way to do this. We've discussed various way to implement hard and soft limits. Hopefully we can get something in a patch.

    Ok - I thought that since you can have positive modifiers with different baits in different water, that the short-term solution would be to apply a negative modifier specifically to lava. Guess it's not so easy. :(

    Hope you find a solution soon. Until then - people can just use minnows to level up lava fishing.

    In some ways - I'd rather you delay lava fishing until this is fixed. This makes lava fishing not challenging at all.

    Also, the gem baits have no chance of getting recovered. I guess I’ll stick with minnows until that’s fixed.

    We just added bait types explicitly restricted to water type. Lava baits will be only for lava and water baits only for water.
