    All I can say is, I'll be doing quite a lot of fishing in the near future. The new fish recipes are pretty darn good!

    I really don't see much logic in having redundant foods give the same buffs, 3 for polearms, 2 for swords, only 1 for bludgeon, 0 for ranged, and a +10 strength buff with no negative side effect.

    We can already get over 350 str without these new foods, and over 250 int without them. I'm not complaining. Just curious when dexterity builds will get some love. It's not easy being a low strength, low int build.

    Obsidian wolf chops and wolf surprise both give +5 dex. They just need to add a ranged bonus.

    I guess they just ran out of time. Hopefully that's actually what they plan on doing. Time will tell.

    You can stack 2 foods as long as they have different names. So 2 for each weapon type is useful.
    3 for polearms and only 1 for bludgeoning seems like a mistake?

    @Chris ?

    Also, the new fish recipes require only cooking level 1? That does not seem right. These should all be cooking level 80 or higher.

    Agree, this is quite irritating.

    Agreed. The Tabula Rasa book has me tempted. I could do all you other Dex peeps a favor, I suppose, and use the book to re-spec. Because you know we'll get a massive boost the second I do.

    Yes, the recipes should demand more then the obsidian recipes in cooking skill. Since they give a little more then obsidian food.
    Also one polearm should become bludgeon -> 2 polearms, 2 bludgeon and 2 swords.

    ----

    Since this is int-food it would be better when this food adds attunement to a magic school. And the obsidian food would be improved with combat related buffs. There 4 different obsidian meat -> bludgeon, swords, bows and polearm.

    The new food effects are cool, but they're more novelty items than anything else. Its not like you can go out and reasonably expect to catch a cookable fish in 20+ hrs of fishing. I've spent at least that much time in saltwater and not gotten a -single- fish that could be cooked (at least, worth cooking). At that sort of drop rate, these foods really aren't...reasonable. Meanwhile, I have thousands and thousands of regularfish that I don't even bother butchering. Lately I've just been selling them to the vendor because of their sheer pointlessness. I mean how many bass/trout/salmon do you really need? Nobody eats any of it.

    Gotta say I'm a bit disappointed with how we've "finally" got int food, but its been added to the "so rare its pointless" list of acquirable things. I get having the fish be rare for trophy purposes, but having them be this rare for cooking purposes is just shortsighted. In an hour I managed to catch 4 pacu, which seemed a bit more reasonable, but still not reliable. Not like going and killing a handful of bears and getting a carcass you can cook and eat. The uncommon fish would probably be ok. The rare fish being required is a joke.

    Big +1! I have fished countless hours and haven't caught one of these rare fishes. The rarity needs to be turned down.

    Int was one of the most overlooked food items. So this helps out those of us who rely a lot on Int. Too bad can only apply two. I love my dragon stew, plus wolf food for Dex. Would love to not have to give Dex up (or the stew).

    Id have to wait a couple more days to be sure but i think catch rate has increased. Went from 1-2 a day on average to 2-4 a day. Might just be luck.

    I like that they are rare to catch because it pertty munch ensures you have to be a desicated fisherman to consistantly provide them. But yesterday i caught 3 rare food fish. Id like them to yield more meat so that it doesnt cost 2500 for a single plate of food, and so that they can be kept in stock at that rarity. Rare but good yield is a good way to ensure a reason to buy from a dedicated fisher rather than trying yourself.

    Theres already too much you can just go out and do in 10 mins yourself.

    @DarkStarr , @Chris

    They are any changes planned to the weapon buffs the food gives?
    2 bludgeon, 2 polearm and 2 bladed vs. 1 bludgeon, 3 polearm and 2 bladed like it is now.

    I need to update the fish cooking book. This books also contains the buffs food gives.

    One of the polearm foods was already changed to bludgeon.

    That would be nice. I would think the most logical way to sort out portion quantities would be by fish weight, but time will tell I guess.

    Now if we couldn't make one for archers, should I hold out hope that one will eventually be added?
