So, I saw all the info for the buffs/stats to all the back slot items... very cool!

I did not see any items with Intelligence, so how about a back slot robe of sorts that casters can wear instead of a backpack, wings, cloak, quivers, or shroud. Like a hooded robe/cloak combo.

Mages back slot robe (Intelligence & Casting Speed) ??

"Previously, the only back slot item that had any stats associated with it was the Shroud of the Avatar item. Now all back slot items can be Masterworked and Enchanted. They also now use the Patterns system. There are four basic types of back slot items: Backpacks (Strength & Carry Capacity), Cloaks (Defense & Attack Speed), Wings (Dexterity & Move Rate) and Quivers (Dexterity & Ammo Recovery)."

    Release 62 notes.

What would this "back slot robe" cover (physically) on your char ?

Yeah, I also noticed that int was very conspicuously missing from the list of new back slot bonuses. Disappointing in the extreme, but not unexpected - I'm totally convinced the devs hate mages. Its why we can't get parity on food or buffs either compared to other stats and every dedicated mage is pretty much required to wear several best-in-slot artifacts to even come close. Sure would be nice to have a back slot item with int, so I can go trash my truth virtue stealing stuff again and have my black shroud back for fashion purposes. :X

I would want int on a Cloak not a Robe. Robes cover my kilt.

Without jumping the gun, 'if' there is initially no cloak with Int stats, i.e. a magicians cloak, that does seem seem a huge omission. Makes me wonder if some amazing cloak designs are planned for sale later on.....

I definitely want my Mage to have a Rincewind cloak.

i believe that enchant works on them and they are full sized items. thats around +10 int for major and minor enchant buffs.

I tested this on the last QA build (doesn't mean it's working as it's supposed to) and:

-Only Str has a major enchant version. All stats had minor enchant versions. These were the options for cloaks and backpacks, didn't test other types on that patch.
-Only dex and str is available as stats in masterworking, this is based on the type of item.

I don't want to jump to any conclusions before seeing how it turns out, but if it's actually intentional that less int than other stats is available for back items, I find that to be a pretty strange decision.

In a recent thread about rarity of int food, someone mentioned that maybe the reason for it is that magic/intelligence is very powerful. I thought that there was no way that this was actually the reason for the rarity of int food, but in a recent livestream, Darkstarr mentioned the same thing when asked about it.

I don't really care very much about something as minor as a couple of small stat bonuses, but if something is viewed as unbalanced, doing weird stuff with backpacks and fish food is a pretty strange way to address it.

Full disclosure: I don't have a single point of int on any of my gear or buffs (and I feel fine).

Isn’t it obvious by now portal wants everyone to play polearms.

Just poking fun no reason for people to get all frothy.

Yes mages are op with their 1-second cast time and 80-300 damage.

How is a 1700 hp berzerker with 600-1000 damage poisoned instant casts expected to compete?

The devs don’t play their own game enough to know this stuff, it’s one of the biggest costs to loosing Kor. That dude knew the game.

How about cloak/robe hybrid maybe even a hood on it? Perhaps the ability to hide it? A mages cloak would be pretty cool
