The tax coto is currently at 6k gold, was 3.5k gold in the past. After the change the tax coto might be 60 gold.
Somewhere in the forum darkstarr mentioned, that it is ok, that cotos are sold at a higher price as the tax coto. So people sell their coto at the market and pay tax with gold.
I do not expect that the coto selling price falls below the tax coto. The time are long gone getting cotos at 2650 gold and paying tax @3500 gold/coto with it.

 

That is my main concern. Unless things change we are getting the option to have specific enchants/MW on weapons and armor along with titles/bonus on our weapons. I want to keep those for a long time. Will it take 100 “New Cotos” for each major repair?

Guess main reason the $5 option goes away is due to financial transaction fees work (how much credit card companies charge and so)
And i don't know how that works.

Two things I wonder.
What happens with the monthly stretch goals?
How will repair change? (especially for weapons that we attune (killing many trolls for example)

 

COTO Should be completely removed for any type of repair. This should be purely a function of skill, crafting, and economy. I know why they did it when they did it, but upkeep on gear needs to stimulate the crafter economy not the COTO ones. The time for this is over.

 

I hope not-- I would hope that once an item get used to the point where you've killed enough XX with it - when the 'magic' happens and that item gets a name - it will be repaired to full.

It would suck to buy a nice sword and grind a bunch of kobolds with it until it's dull as a butter knife, and then it becomes a 'kobold slayer' -- I'm hopeful that whatever system or quest there is to 'turn in' your weapon to become titled/bonused - will repair it to 100 primary and secondary durability.

I think a lot of 'loot minded' folks are turned off by items not being 'forever' and not having that warm and cushy feeling -- but I get/understand the mechanics of it, and keeping crafters crafting.

 

I have no issue with repairing gear, it just needs to be done with something like greater repair scrolls along with enhanced GM crafting skills. Adding a COTO to a UI should not be something that puts full repair to an item. With all the QOL stuff, this is needed to re-stimulate the need to be a high level crafter.

 

I also know why they did it and if the crafters could make a decent profit by selling them to the NPC vendors as well as they do selling them to players that would be the best QOL decision to date. It would take away the need for item wear and tear.

 

They should allow us to fully repair our gear with the tons of useless weapons and armor we have stored that were not exceptional. Even using 10 brand new 100 max durability swords to recover max durability on our favorite would be appreciated. The Coto repair should be abandoned.

 

Repair should be completely skill based. At GM or higher one should be able to add some points to max. durability.

 

There are some old cotos that don´t stack, be sure that they split too

 

please don't over complicate this.

$1 = 100 cotos
rewards program gives 1000 (or more) cotos for the $9

this makes it obvious where the best deal is and easy to remember. during holiday/etc sales you can add bonus cotos or reduce prices at different levels.

 

What ever the situation, it’s only a temporary block of time before the new dynamic is well in place and can be adjusted if necessary. So let them adjust. The game will still be free to play to those that embrace that with passion for episode 1

My comment is not about Shawn in particular but I do heartily agree that it should not be over complicated.

With the new system, All that money i use to spend on shroud will no longer happen. I am glad you decided to change the game, but with this change my support $$ wise will go else where. $5 on alt accounts was one thing, but an extra $9 is not something i even remotely want to spend. It was fine when i checked the list of rewards and was like you know what i want all of these things. I want multiple copies. But i refuse to over pay for coto(s) from your store.

 

My non-subscription monthly payment gets me 9 coto each month (and I still think it's the best offer available because of the other benefits, although I am not clear if the monthly 'new items' will still be a thing in the future) so based on what Chris said
