After Purchase Gifting on Web Going Away with R64

Starting with Release 64, we are eliminating the feature from our webstore that allows the gifting of items after purchase. Items purchased on the webstore are now automatically delivered in the game, and therefore are not available to gift to another account.

Please note that "Send as Gift" will still be available as an option at the time of purchase. Also use of the in-game mail system for sending items is always an option.

 

@DarkStarr Please consider adding COD as a mailing option (This is a standard option in most MMORPG mailing systems).

 

So, you're eliminating the ability for people to pre-purchase things that become account bound like bank upgrades, orbs, and make a difference emotes and send them as gifts when they want to? Why? People not being able to buy and send gifts when desired is an improvement somehow?

You're one of those highly unusual people that buy gifts for others seconds before giving them? You don't like to buy things on sale either? How is this an improvement?

 

Send it to yourself, don't claim it and when you're ready to send it to the ultimate recipient then email them the link.

Are you sure the above means you will still be able to send items by link after purchase? It sounds like that is the ability that will be eliminated. Why complicate the gifting process? How is this an improvement?

Account binding items like emotes can be sent in-game?

 

You can purchase is as a gift and send it to your own email. When you're ready to gift it then send the recipient the link that's in the email.

There was a lot of confusion about claiming the items in-game from first-time buyers, so they made it auto-claim when you log on.

Many games employ a mail system where you can send xxxx item and request xxx cash for them to retrieve it. The recipient can then either accept or deny it.

Please tell me you’ll be introducing someway in the ingane store to gift items. I understand we can mail most things, but there are things, that once purchased can’t be transferred. And giving someone the cotos to buy it themselves, kinda defeats the purpose of most gifting.

 

When you purchase say an emote, does it automatically get applied to your avatar or does it come in a green bag?

 

When I purchased the pet dances one, the option to select dance on pets then worked. No bag was given.

 

Sounds like that needs to be changed.
